  1. Picked up my F350 Monday afternoon. Two days shy of 6.5 months from order. According to the dealer this is the first dually they have had on the lot in months and they had several people try to buy it. I am happy to report that the dealer experience was very good. I was expecting to have to argue the X plan, military $500, and price protection to order date but they had all the paperwork ready and had it all covered ? In and out fairly quickly (about 1.5 hrs) and we are very happy with it. Now to get 1000 miles on it so I can tow for a pre-planed planned trip
  2. The gods must have been smiling on me, made it to my dealer from the rail yard ind Denver in 2 days! They will have it ready for pink up Monday!!!!! Just a couple of days short of 6.5 months from order date.
  3. Cyberdman, I'm new here but I wanted to say thank you for helping out. Being able to track it to the Denver facility with the car information you were able to get me was fun and frustrating at the same time ? I'm sure your assistance has been important to many, many people over the years. A very heartfelt thank you! Wishing you all the best on your next adventure. Allen
  4. Interesting, my dealer is 70 miles south of Denver and my rail car arrived at the BNSF Big Lift facility (not the UP one by I76) on Wednesday early AM and tracking showed the car released unloaded later that day. No idea how long it will take to get to my dealer from the Big Lift. I'm hoping for a week or less but I've heard that duallys may have limited spots on the transporter so it may be longer. I would have thought that all trucks from the Kentucky plant would go to the same facility in Denver. I guess some must go by different railways so maybe that's the difference?
  5. Anyone else tracking their truck's progress via the rail car number? I have to say its a little frustrating to see the lack of progress. I've been tracking since April 11 and as an example of the high speed progress the last few days (yes, I'm being sarcastic): One leg (from departed city time to arrived city time) 28.5 hours and made it about 120 miles Next leg (also departed city time to arrived city time) 25 hours and made it an incredible 36 miles Yes, I'm very glad its built and being shipped (order date 18 Oct) but this case of oh so close but oh slow progress is killing me. The nearly 6 months from order to shipped date felt easier than this last two weeks. I guess now that its real (built & shipped) the anticipation is getting to me ? First time I've tried tracking a rail car, is this usually how rail shipping goes? I have a feeling that the car tracking data is a bit less than accurate but......
  6. I usually have bad timing. Ordered 18 Oct but at least it's built and on a train, hopefully May sometime........ Been tracking the high speed rail shipment, it's moved about 120 miles in the last 2 days ?
  7. In a heartbeat! In fact, my wife keeps asking why we can't just go pick it up at the factory. I'd fly in and drive cross country back to Colorado. Love a good road trip!
  8. Thank you! Movement progress!! Hopefully my next post will be a photo of picking it up. Thanks again Allen
  9. I was able to wait two weeks to ask for another update, man that was hard to do ? VIN: 1FT8W3DT5NED89333 Order#: 4402 Hopefully its not still in Kentucky parking lot purgatory waiting on a train. Thanks in advance Allen
  10. Hay, I take offense to that as I have a Stone Gray F350 DRW on the way and I'm not old...... well, I guess I likely fall into the older crowd ? so what ta heck if the shoe fits, wear it ? I was okay with silver, the dark gray, or stone gray so I left the choice to the better half. I do like that I rarely see another one in that color. Congrats on your new truck!
  11. My question as well. 1000 miles is overkill, really just need a few heat & cool cycles for the rear gears so after doing that I'd be happy to start towing but wonder if Ford can tell if a trailer has been hooked up before 1000 miles and void the warranty. Wouldn't surprise me to find out they could pull the data. With an integrated brake controller and likely load sensor(s) it's not far fetched to think the system is smart enough to know.... Does anyone know the fact of the matter?
  12. Thanks, sounds like a good way to do it!
  13. Question: In your plumbing into the factory fill line, there are two lines. One is obviously the supply line from the pump, is the other a vent? If so, is it to keep from having a separate vent on the bed tank? I would think so but wanted to be sure as I'll be installing one when my truck gets here. Thanks Allen
  14. We have a trip planned for about 2-3 weeks after the projected delivery date and will be pulling loaded a 24' enclosed over the mountains. If it comes in in time I should be able to hit the 1000 mark (will do an oil and rear diff fluid change). My daily commute is 70+ so a couple of small weekend trips added in should do it. Of course I doubt it will be here in time so I'm prepping my old truck for the trip (04 Ram Cummins/6 sp manual) but it would be a bummer to leave my new truck sitting because I didn't get the break in done ?
  15. Went with a stone gray Lariat (being shipped now). Partly due to not seeing many that color around here, should not show the gravel road dust as much as some other colors, and after driving blue trucks for over 26 years (USAF) I just can't do a blue truck ? Really debated on interior color and finally went with boring black. Would have loved a dark brown (like a dark saddle leather); the light tan option is just way too light light for my taste.
