  1. I've just sent a note to our Ford Zone Manager to see if he has any information regarding the 2020 Mustang balance out schedule and/or an estimated Job #1 date for the 2021MY Mustang. In addition, I asked him about the timetable and/or Job #1 date for the 2021 Bronco Sport. I'll post an update if I'm able to learn anything.
  2. Bronco and Ranger are not limited production vehicles. The only constraint is plant capacity at MAP. The 2021 Mustang Mach-E is limited production of 50,000 units the first year, most likely due to contracts and availability of the battery packs. It's too early for any information on what the planned or potential production will be for the 2022MY Mustang Mach-E.
  3. Bronco and Ranger are produced on separate lines at MAP.
  4. The Super Duty order guides are more extensive because of the additional options, etc. available for the wide variety of commercial applications for the vehicles.
  5. No problem! The production week scheduling information comes from Ford's Scheduling Toolbox which is updated weekly. The Scheduling Toolbox shows that cleanup scheduling will be done the weeks of June 22nd and July 6th to finish scheduling allocation that doesn't schedule this Thursday due to commodity issues, etc. There is no vehicle scheduling the week of June 29th due to scheduled plant down time. The production timetable, including the model changeover information, is included in the FDNB (Fleet Distribution News Bulletin) which is published on Friday's but usually not available until as late as Monday depending on what issues exist with Ford's IT department which does site maintenance from late Saturday night through late Sunday morning. The model changeover information has still not been released for a number of models including Mustang. In addition, the last allocation of the Model Year for any vehicle line always covers a two month period and Ford hasn't yet done the "Balance Out" wholesale for 2020MY Mustang allocation. As such, it appears that the model changeover and Job #1 Date for the 2021MY Mustang may not be until sometime in the Fall, most likely late October or November this year. As soon as the Mustang timetable is released I'll provide that information in the Mustang forum.
  6. Deanh understands the situation well from the dealership level and I agree with him as I've been managing the order bank for my dealership for 34 years now. I've argued for years about the need to simplify the ordering process. The more free standing options available the harder it is to order and stock the most desirable inventory mix to satisfy a dealership's market demand. From a production standpoint, it might not make a difference on the assembly line to install different grilles because of the way parts arrive and are sequenced "just in time" but there are other factors involved. Ford has to contract with the suppliers to a production quantity, timetable, etc. Some of the decisions are made based on marketing research and projected demand. Every additional freestanding option adds to overall production costs and makes the dealerships ordering process more difficult. And forget about dealerships swapping out parts at no charge. Most dealerships are not going to cannibalize their inventory by changing parts that would then make it more difficult to sell the affected vehicle to another customer or Ford Dealer. The larger Ford stores have dedicated accessory departments that stock a wide variety of parts and accessories to meet the demands of their own market. Otherwise, Ford dealers stock the most common parts and accessories for their market and customer base (Bedliners, etc.) and order other parts from Ford or other distribution sources that can either be delivered the same day or next in most cases. The reality is that probably only 10% or less of new vehicle sales are retail orders from the factory. Most customers don't want to wait for a retail factory order and will buy from a dealership's stock inventory, unless their needs are specific and within the bounds of the vehicle's order guide. Some vehicle order guides are pretty good and allow dealerships to stock similar vehicles in quantity that help the sales rates. Other vehicle lines (F-Series, Transit, etc.) have much more complicated order guides to meet potential commercial requirements that make the whole ordering process more difficult for stock orders. There is no way that Ford will consider multiple order guides for any vehicle line. The customer can either buy from Dealer stock or place a retail order within the regular order guide requirements!
  7. So tired of all the delays and endless speculation. When there's an actual production timetable with order bank and scheduling information and the 2021 Bronco Order Guide is released, maybe then I can feel some enthusiasm.
  8. 2021MY Mustang Mach-E production is limited to 50,000 units total with half of that production destined for export markets. Bronco will be built at MAP (Michigan Assembly Plant) with the only limitation being plant capacity.
  9. Unless I missed something... Since when did Ford say anything that the Bronco ordering and scheduling process was going to be similar to the Mustang Mach-E? Bronco/Bronco Sport are both regular production models as opposed to the Mustang Mach-E.

  18. LOL! I'm still trying to figure out what Farley has actually accomplished of any substance and worried about Ford appointing him as the heir apparent. Seems a lot like Mark Fields 2.0.
  19. I found it interesting to note that while working on month-end inventory sales reports that Ford has added the Bronco Sport to one of the reports. They have not yet added the Bronco. Per usual, Ford Dealers have no information as we'll all find out when the public does!
