  1. It's been a great vehicle!!! Probably the best Ford I've owned since my 2007 Edge SEL!!! Was planning on buying out the lease seeing the buyout was pretty damn good. However, after visiting the dealership I've decided to lease a 2012 Fusion Sport (loaded) for about $50 cheaper a month (Amazing... I believe this payment is cheaper than my 1999 Mustang V6)... Right now I'm getting the Silver Sport but very tempted to get the Candy Red Sport!!! I hate decisions such as color... Glad I like both colors! Pretty damn excited. Just hope my family member gets back to me with my X-Plan pin... Fingers crossed because my other two options haven't worked out yet.
  2. Not against getting a hybrid but the amount of miles on put on my vehicles a year I cannot justify the hybrid. How much is the tax credit?
  3. SEL has a Moon and Tunes on both vehicles w/ the reverse sensor (which I'm glad is on there). The SEL comes better equipped right from the get go. If you 100% load both of them up the Sport is only $400-$500 more. However, my budget will not allow that. In fact, if I was smart I'd get the SE with the V6 and the Sun and Sync. However, the SEL is a better of the three deals IMO. Trying to get a car that I "WOULD" consider buying after the lease is up if need be.
  4. Haa ha. That's great. So, that's why you drive the i4 now? Because she figured out what you did?
  5. I agree, another $1000 off the price would of been the sweet spot. Still happy with the price they are giving me but still would of been nice. The plan is still to pickup the Sterling Gray SEL on Thursday. However, still tempted to see if I can get a Sport w/ aftermarket heated seats for the same price. Wife isn't going for that though. Haa ha.
  6. I'm a Apple Fanboy and literally hate using MS in my "personal" life seeing I am the internal IT guy. However, I just ordered an SEL Fusion and can't wait for Sync!!! In fact, I was going to get an SE without sync but I ended up getting an SEL with Sync and KNEW I need it. It just works!
  7. Curious, what is the cost to do this? I believe I've been told that they are $300... Also, where do you install the switch?
  8. Went to the dealership on Christmas eve and drove the SEL and the Sport one more time. Unfortunately it comes down to the bottom line. The SEL does drive noticeably smoother but the Sport has more power and you can feel it from a stand still. Unfortunately I'm already over my budget (still a savings from my Edge) and in order to keep the wife happy we need heated seats.... However, once again Ford feels that I need to buy a $3000 package in order to get heated seats which bumps the lease price up $35 more a month. Both nice cars / engines and looking forward to picking up my SEL on Thursday. Oh, and anyone know if there are any additional rebates that I can get above and beyond the loyalty $$$$ and the rebates? I requested an brochure online and being told that there "may" be an additional coupon in there but not 100% sure. Just wish Ford allowed their employees to give away one "A" plan to a non-family member one time a year like Chrysler does.
  9. Yeah, I went from a 1997 Explorer Sport, 1999 V6 Mustang, 2002 Mustang GT, 2005 Explorer to a Edge SEL... I love the Edge but my wife didn't... Rode great and she loved the look of it but being 5'1" she thought it felt very big compared to the Explorer. I think it was because you sit down more like a car and in her minivan and the explorer you sit up higher. Just guessing because I don't 100% know. So, I've driven cars that rode different from each other. Just not 100% sure I want to feel the road and every pothole in MI with the sports suspension. Looking forward to being in a car again. Now to decide if I want to lease for the 36 months or finance for 60.
  10. Well, wife went and drove the SEL with the Moon & Tunes package and the Sport with the Moon & Tunes package. Right now the Sterling Gray Fusion is sitting in the SOLD lot. We both like the ride on the SEL better. I need to take them both out one more time to make my final choice but I think I'm pretty sold on the V6 SEL. Thanks for the opinions.
  11. Thanks for your input. Do you guys know for a fact that the seats are different between the Sport and SEL? the SEL seemed more "comfortable" but didn't know if it was because I didn't adjust the seat good enough. Yeah, on the SEL I had for the weekend I really liked the Dual Zone Climate Control and the Heated Seats. Being in MI I'm not 100% sure I want to "feel the road" but I do just commute 15 minutes each way. I liked the steering in the SE better than the SEL but it isn't a deal breaker. Tough decision... I'm a "performance" type of person but my wife really likes the SEL because of the added stuff. Guess I need to drive each one again to decide.
  12. Had a SEL with a V6 for the weekend and drove the Sport last night. They both price about the same and I'm about ready to buy (or lease) a 2010 Sport but a little concerned with the tire choice and the harder ride... What's the mechanical differences between the two? Tighter suspension on the Sport? Tighter steering on the sport? Anything else I'm missing? I'm 99.9% same the interior is the same correct? My wife loved the SEL and feels that the 3.0L is quick enough. She might be right (even though I was considering a 2007 Mustang GT). But something makes me keep wanting the Sport. Will be test driving both again in the next day or two. This will be replacing our 2007 Ford Edge. Bill
  13. Looks like I made the video cut... http://www.fordboldmoves.com/Episode.aspx?episode=13 Funny, they asked me a lot more questions than that.
  14. I ordered Blazing Copper on my edge... Sight unseen... I sure hope I like it... Other than Black, Blazing Copper, Silver and that Dark Pewter color... Their color pallet sucks... Who picks out these colors? Oh, and the bright red looks nice as well... Bill
  15. Mine is in the system... However, by giving them $100.00 deposit it locks me into the "BEST" pricing. For example, if the original pricing is $26,000 and when they finally start shipping it goes up to $27,000 I get it for $26,000. Now, as far as "they can't order until they get pricing"? I don't know, I have a receipt that says my SEL is ordered but pricing isn't available yet. I'll call Monday and ask if you want. Bill
  16. It should be a real winner for ford. The only thing that would make less of a success is to introduce it with bad residuals and rates so it leases bad. I kept the options in check to keep the price down so hopefully it leases about the same as my explorer. If they offered 0% for 60 months I might even consider buying it. However, I don't know about buying a brand new car w/ a new engine and transmission the first year it's introduced. Bill
  17. I would say it rode very very nice compared to my explorer. More like a car but the room of a SUV. It seemed quiet but it will be hard to tell until you actually get it out into "real" traffic. I would rate it probably a 7 or 8 out of 10... But a 10 if you compare it to a Truck/SUV (IMHO). The best part of the day was sitting in a Ford GT (GT40). FUN. Also, I only went there to drive the Edge so I didn't drive anything other than a Sport Track on the off road setup. Bill
  18. Well, realistically I'm starting to accept that 70-80% of my driving is City so I'll just be happy to get low 20's anyhow. But still beats the 16ish I get in my explorer. Bill
  19. Well, it seemed to corner very good however I never got onto the gas due to the ford babysitter sitting next to me. But, the second time around their was a film crew in the car who kicked the babysitter out and I stepped on it out of the hole. Mileage is "Mid-20's" which is starting to p*ss me off. Don't they have any real data yet? Bill
  20. I ended up going to the Ford Racing Drive Zone because I was told that there would be three Ford Edge's (two to test drive and one on display). http://fordracingevents.com/drive-zones/detroit-drive-zone When we got there we parked next to two Ford Edge's in the parking lot with manufacture plates on it. The event started at 8:00 and we signed up for a 10:00 slot to test drive even though I think you just reserve a slot so it help keep the crowds a little less crowded. Here are some photos of the Edge SEL's that we saw in the parking garage. The Edge was stuck in customs so it didn't get there until around 9:45 and didn't get to the test track until around 10:30. I was the second person to test drive it and all I have to say that it looks great in person and the interior look is beautiful. When we got there around 9:00-9:30 we got to see the Edge that they had on display and I was immediately approached by the Bold Move film crew for an interview which I allowed (must of been to tired to say no). So, you might see me in one of the Bold Move featuring "the edge". But, hopefully not. Here are images of "The Edge" that was on display. Then I got two laps out of the Edge. First one w/ my father and the ford rep (only car that a Ford Rep was in.) Second lap w/ the Bold Move's Film crew (they saw me in line and wanted to get footage of me test driving the Edge). All I have to say is that vehicle looks better in person (and it always looked good in the photos), interior is sweet looking, lots of interior room (felt as roomy as my Explorer), lots of cargo room, vista roof is very nice (even though I didn't order mine w/ one due to my wife and I always have our sunroofs closed and having a 16 month old), Plenty of pickup, rode nice and handled very very well. Can't wait until mine shows up in November. Bill
  21. Are brake pads covered under warranty?
  22. My dealer is OUT OF 2006's and they had TONS of them. I almost got a Fusion to replace my explorer because it is a nice vehicle and ford was paying for the first month lease payment. So, less than $100.00 to pickup a new car. Bill
  23. I wanted to see the differences between the 17" rims that I ordered w/ my SEL and the 18" options and seeing there are not any photos of the 17" Painted or the 18" Painted rims I decided to do some photoshop work. Then I decided to share them w/ you guys. 17" Painted Aluminum Wheels 18" Painted Aluminum Wheels 18" Premium Aluminum Chrome Clad Wheels
  24. I was about 95% ready to buy a V50. That car was beautiful but seeing we are pretty sure we are keeping my wife's Jetta when the lease is up we were worried about having two cars similar sized. We wanted a Explorer replacement that got better gas millage. XC90 SUV was really nice but would be another pig on gas. So, we ordered an edge and if we opt to get rid of the Jetta next year we will most likely be looking at a V50 next year. I'm sure some of our friends will think we are snobs but we don't care. Bill
  25. Opps... I guess you are correct. I guess the MKZ = Zephyr but they renamed it? That just doesn't seem to make sense on 1 year of marketing the Zephyr name. MKZ does sound more flashy though. God, Lincoln is as bad as Volvo w/ the Names. Volvo Has = S40, S60, S80, V50, V70, XC70, XC90 & C70 Lincoln Has - MKZ, MKS & MKX... Opps, that's all... Haa haa... Actually, are they rebranding all their names? MKLS (LS), MKN (Navigator), Etc.? So... MKZ = Zepher MKS = New Sedan (When will this ship because it's beutiful) MKX = Re-Badged Edge Bill
