  1. I'm just waiting for them to do them in sub lime.
  2. Thanks for the link that you sent. I knew about that site, but never had the chance to visit. As far as the FiveHundred goes, Ford said at the time of its release that it was not going to sale as many units as the Taurus. At that time they were minimizing fleet sales, and felt that the Taurus was a damaged name. Atlanta would have been perfect for the fusion triplets. I wonder how people like Mark Fields sleep at night (or keep their job) after they realize how they screwed up. Recall how the redesigned Fivehunderd was introduced at the 07 Detroit show, and then quickly renamed Taurus at the Chicago show. Even when viewed purely from a analytical point of view, their incompetence was amazing. In some ways the way forward worked, but in many ways it failed horribly. Fields cut too much muscle, and not enough fat. I just wish my former Bros and Sis well. Life moves on, and Ford unjustly closed one hell of a plant and lost a great workforce.
  3. I hate to look at these pics. They remind me of now gone great times that I've had with my former coworkers and friends. There was no reason that we could not have been retooled for the fusion triplets instead of mexico. But life goes on, and unfortunately Atlanta Assembly is gone now. Just a pile of twisted steel that is soon to be recycled. I have not been keeping up with what is going on with the company now, but I hope that no one else has to go through this.
  4. Its sad to see what that plant has become, compaired to what it was, and could have been. I still miss many of my old coworkers, but time moves on. I have many plesant memorys of that place.
  5. It seems like everyone else has plans for building here except us.
  6. I wonder if any additional buyouts will be offered to other plants when Atlanta goes down? It would be nice for it to open up the possibility of transfers.
  7. Yes  They really need to clean house of all of the deadbeats. After we were laid off in August, they still had people that would pull medicals, and come to work when they felt like it. Alot of us that were put into the street had perfect attendance and were dedicated workers.
  8. Any word on the people that were layed off in september?
  9. They shouldn't even roll back their records. I'm all for getting rid of deadbeats!!
  10. Im not buying anything that the media says. I'll wait until it comes out of Bill Fords mouth. Although I belive that closing AAP would be a huge mistake.
  11. Sadly, I belive that the closing of the GM Doraville plant will help to keep AAP open. The state govenment does not want to have 2 plant closings announced just months apart. I sure that they are more willing to give Ford a attractive offer to keep the plant open.
  12. Whoever complained must not have seen the ipie thread in the svt section. Hell, alittle (or shall I say a lot) of ass never hurt anything!!
  13. Every time I hear the "Keep it simple plan", I think of K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid.
  14. Who would buy that land? Delta? Fulton county? The state of GA? Ford could easily upgrade AAP. The plant currently can produce 250000+ QUALITY units. Ford needs to keep a presence in the south. I do not want either plant to close, but unfortuneatly when I worked at Wixom, they did not build the highest quality vehicles. It was a fairly regular occurance for the final line to stop because the garage was full of cars that needed to be repaired. When I came to AAP I hated it. I felt like it was a step back in time. Now 3 years later I love this plant. We build the best cars with the least amount of people. I dread the thought of moving back to MI, and dealing with those crappy roads and bad winters. I hope that something can be worked out so that both plants can stay open. Unfortuneatly It is not up to us.
  15. I doubt that Ford would close Atlanta. However you never can be too sure.
