I liked this sentence: "The Plug-in HV closely resembles a stock Prius .... " Since that car looked so good to begin with! I guess the article says Toyota beat Ford/GM to the punch b/c they're road testing and Ford/GM aren't? rmc523
It's all puffing until it comes to market! True, but we all know that if Ford or even GM would get it to the market first, it be a small, last minute report on any news channel, but if Toyota were to do it first, it'd be headline news ex. Toyota developed a plug-in hybrid  "It's a revolution!! Nobody's ever thought of this stuff before Toyota!!!" Ford/GM developed a plug-in hybrid :reading: "Oh, thats nice" Edited July 25, 2007 by rmc523

Your right they won't remember that GM had the concept at the autoshow first!
2000SableWagon
Wow, it can go 8 miles on electric power, if you don't step on the power gas pedal too hard. Also it is still using NiMH batteries. Toyota is really pushing the envelope on this one. http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070725/japan_toyot...ybrid.html?.v=

The Volt was covered on the primetime national news for all 3 networks when it was nothing more than an empty shell with a golf cart motor and a lead-acid battery. Let me know when you see a 7 minute segment about this vehicle on 60 Minutes. When GM invites AP reporters to drive the Volt you will see the exact same coverage. No conspiracies or persecution involved.
Bored of Pisteon
Fuck that! I'd rather drive the plug-in Taylor-Dunn scooters at the Ford plants than that piece of shit Toyota makes! Those scooters are more fun anyway!
