Hopefully we will see Ford return to profit sooner rather than later now. With this subprime meltdown getting worse every day, Ford suddenly looks like pillar of stability. Even GM is caught up in it and losing billions as result. Ford has no exposure in this mess that will get even worse next year. Investigations are beginning and folks will be going to jail. All the money coming out of financial stocks will go somewhere. If Ford can start showing consistent profit and with no exposure to this mess, money will go to Ford as it will seen as safe place. I unfortunately own Washington Mutual stock and have seen price go from $44 to $18 in about a year. Twelve months ago WM was pillar of stability and F was basket case. Twelve months later F faces no exposure and WM has tanked and looking at possible jail time and billions in losses. Times change quickly.
