jpark
Love the blackout head and tail lamps and the body-color lower bodyside. The wheels? Meh. I know there's a market for them, but I'm not in it. Overall, this model will help Edge sales edge even higher, IMHO.
Kiki 08
I would definitely consider the Edge Sport for the next Ford purchase. Not in love with the wheels and tires, though.
suv_guy_19
I would definitely consider the Edge Sport for the next Ford purchase. Not in love with the wheels and tires, though. I wouldn't want it simply because it would ride like a stone boat. I think it would get tiring after a while.
mkaresh
Seems to just be an appearance package. I'd like to see more aggressive suspension tuning. It's possible these days to tune for handling without killing the ride.

rmc523
Would have to lose the tires and wheels. It does have 20"s standard, if that's better for you. And yes, welcome to BOF.

Kiki 08
Nice to see you here, Kiki! :D Hiya! Nice to be here! Rather than the 09 Edge, I'm thinkin' when you get rid of your Edge that I might like to be first in line for it. Thinking ahead? You betcha! :shades:
jpark
The blue LEDs did it, right?
rmc523
The blue LEDs did it, right? What blue LEDs are you referring to?
jpark
I replaced all of the Edge's instrumentation LEDs with brighter LEDs, mainly blue, except for the cluster and shift bezel (so far). The LED package sizes: power window and lock controls use 3mm, T-1 package LEDs, all of the controls except for the navigation head unit use PLCC-2 package LEDs, and the navigation unit uses 0805 package LEDs. I haven't changed anything in the cluster yet, but I've removed the green coating on the back of the gauge faces, so they're white right now. I'll also remove the green coating from the inside of the shift bezel and replace the incandescent bulb with a blue (or maybe orange if I can't change the colors of the position markings) LED board I've made that plugs into the standard wedge socket. Since we all know how dim the standard green LEDs are, this picture should give you an idea of what things look like now. At this exposure level, the only things visible in the cluster are the needles and the message center. All of the new LEDs are as bright as the message center and auto climate control display. You can also see the steering wheel controls on the left side of the picture. There's no difference in the current draw, so I didn't need to change any resistors. Kiki 08
The blue LEDs did it, right? Absolutely! And I want to be first in line when it's time to trade it. OK?

Kiki 08
Only if your birds don't attack me. LOL That didn't sound like a good, solid "YES" to me.
jpark
It was a good, solid "yes" with an Escape clause. LOL
