New Tundra Heavy Duty at SEMA

Got it here this time...................sorry for the tech glitch.

Just read in the actual magazine that Toyota may consider putting it into production, all depends on consumer input!! If so, that will be interesting..................... :stirpot:

It looks horrid, the flares are terrible. I'm sure it is on the only C-Channel frame they build. Toyota need to concentraite on getting a real competitor in the high demand light truck segment before even thinking of a Dually. Better yet it's a great idea they should start immeadiately, and build 200,000 annually, so that truck customers can laugh at both of their inferior full sized offerings! Junk, f-cking junk!!!!!

If this was an experiment, it was an experiment horribly gone wrong.

"It's alive! My creation is alive!" It's called the Frankenstein package!

Like I said- it was a "finger in the water". Isn't that one of the things SEMA does? Is it a production vehicle? Nope! Does it have a HD motor?- Yes! Is it intendeed to get reaction? You bet.

Again, to those who want to stick your heads in the sand? Go ahead. The point is Toyota and Hino can very easily make the jump DOWN from class 6 and 7 and UP from class 1 and 2. Are they not formidable in everything they have done. Let's not rush to judgement on the merits of the current Tundra.

Let's not rush to judgement on the merits of the current Tundra?

Ok then let's judge them on the merits of the previous Tundra...that was a POS too.

How about judging them on their first half-assed attempt the T-100.

Toyota introduced the original T-100 telling everyone it was a serious threat in the full size pickup market. It failed so bad they dropped the T-Series name and came up with Tundra for their second failed attempt. Toyota has been trying to build a real full sized truck for 15 YEARS now and this current tin can with an engine is the best they can come up with! 5 years ago Nissan did far better on their first attempt with the Titan than Toyzilla with all of their money has done.

Never under estimate the competition of course but Toyota has failed for 15 years in the full size pickup truck market. Since the 1980's when full size pickups became the best selling vehicles of any type in America Toyota has been trying to figure out how to get in the game. So to answer your question Toyota has not been formidable in everything they have done.
