Michael Reynolds
I have a really hard time swallowing the fact that Volvo is a weak car company. I mean up until say 6 months ago, you would have been hard pressed to come across such comments. 'It doesn't do much to strengthen Ford's Euro portfolio', short term maybe not but long term there is potential there. How long did Volvo carry the entire weight of PAG? Amusing how easy people forget.

TStag
Seen this one before. Article is bumf. Up to a point I agree. Krish Bhaskar is the guy who vowed to relaunch about 10 UK car brands having "secured oil revenue" for the task in hand..... Hmmmmm Don't underestimate Volvo's problems though. they now have: - strong Euro/ weak dollar - Cars that drink too much for Europe - low profit margins - high costs - Unfashionable looking models I would have said similar things about Jag 2 years ago but now, they have a weaking pound, high margins (thanks to sharing plants with Land Rover), a more fashionable range.... so really Ford needs to do what it did at Jag to Volvo..... that won't be cheap!
