  1. IYKUK...sadly though, I guess we are so hungry to see SOME sort of product coming out of Ford, it was well crafted actually I give them that.
  2. Entered the wrong title, its Q1 results, not March....
  3. FoMoCo Sales Results "Ford Pickups Have Best Start in Over 20 Years; Q1 U.S. Retail Sales Grow, Led by F-Series, Electrified Vehicles and Bronco"
  4. I'm just waiting till someone figures it out
  5. ..."Among his most successful cars are the China Zephyr and the Nautilus. In addition, he oversaw the development of the latest Navigator" I'm hopeful since the Nautilus has been receiving accolades...
  6. I've been following them, pretty interesting what they are doing, honestly with as many changes they have made, its more like "why not just start on a different platform instead" (Maybe Explorer based since they went with the RWD route), but they are pretty passionate about it.
  7. And this is probably the most excitement we will get from Ford products this year... a trim level introduction...🙄
  8. YouTube This is the video on how to use the "E-Latch" and what to do if you lose power. Maybe I'm missing something, but it's pretty straight forward.
  9. Just look at the current crop of SUVs/Crossovers being introduced. The feminine, soft roader kinda looking is getting old, the Santa Fe went from feminine mobile mobile, to hard edged more masculine styling ( I think it's hideous personally), and then you have Toyota with it's latest offerings being styled more of what it should be, an SUV.
  10. Remember these are government contract vehicles. All stripped and basic, going from Explorer to the Tahoe, was a $8K savings. BOF is cheaper to build, so no surprise there. Explorer only came at first with the 3.0L TT V6, I don't believe for police duty the 2.3L is/was available.
  11. My city in central FL in the past 20 years, went from Impala, to FWD Explorers, to current RWD Explorers, to Tahoes. When the current generation Explorer's came out, they ordered a bunch with the 3.0L V6 TT, and they loved it. They have had no issues with it, but have switched to the Tahoes because they are substantially cheaper than the Explorer. (I've read the contracts). After Covid, it was easier and more available to purchase Tahoes, than Explorers. The decision is really based on 3 mechanics they have on staff, what THEY want, and then recommend to their boss, who recommends to the Chief, and then voted on by the commission as a consent agenda (meaning barely any conversation will take place-housekeeping we call it). They also have some unmarked F150s with the 3.5L EB, they have had no issues with those, and 2 of them are past their "prime". (this dept gets rid of them when they hit 100K) and still going strong with 150K+ miles on them. They also purchased 3 hybrid Mavericks for code enforcement. So I'm curious how those will weather.
  12. I saw that same pattern long ago with the Ford Freestar long ago, "we aren't competitive, let's say it's a dying market" and exit. Meanwhile, Oddity, Sienna, Caravan still soldiered on and Kia/Hyundai entered the market...
  13. Nope I haven't, other than maybe seeing it online... Remember the Panther Mafia, that's the passion I want to see LOL
  14. You have a point there, it's been awhile, maybe years since I've heard someone get excited and say "OH I really aspire to purchase that vehicle"...seems everyone I know just "picks" a vehicle, because they have to, none of them have been passionate over it.
  15. What? Ford letting a product rot on the vine? Nah....How can you say that... (former LS owner)...🙄
  16. I know someone who just bought a RAV4, and I went around the vehicle pointing out my dislikes. Doors shut with a tinny sound, headliner was a joke. Door seals could be better...You need the help of Hellen Keller to feel around for buttons at night because barely anything is lite up. Cheap plastics abound. After I was done he's like "Wow, you really made me feel like I bought a POS". I'm like "No I just want to understand with so many options out there, you went with this"....His prior vehicle was an '17 Edge, with 120K miles, only one minor issue in all those year (TPS)
  17. Wasn't that 3.3L Hybrid engine Ford's most problematic engine in recent years? I believe in reliability scores that the same engine dragged down the F150?
  18. Thursday, January 29, 2004 Ford loves its big, V-8 cash cows By Earle Eldridge / USA TODAY "But Ford earns $7,000 to $10,000 on each Crown Vic and Grand Marquis, which sell for about $23,000, according to estimates from Wall Street analysts. Not bad for a car that hasn't had a substantial redesign in over a decade. Ford officials won't disclose earnings for the models but acknowledge they are very profitable." I remember this article from 20 years ago, the cash cow was rolling money for Ford and if it wasn't for the fuel tank positioning, Ford would have kept it going a bit longer.
  19. I have a few friends, whose kids grew up with me, I'm the adopted uncle. And only one wants kids. Most of them cited they didn't have the patience, nor see the benefit of it, one said she didn't live in the Hallmark channel, and all those fantasies that what makes a perfect life with kids, was BS (she's my favorite), then I have the other one (who her father came out of the closet) she doesn't want the kids to introduce kids into this nasty atmosphere. One kid, his mother and I had to bully him to drive, because he didn't want to... I'm like "Your mother and I were born and raised in Miami, you need to learn to drive mthfkr! You're living in SUburbs, don't be a lil B"... he did...ironically in his household, he prefers the Fusion over the Edges...
  20. When the stock prices start dropping, then watch them share more info...
  21. If that's the case, then let's bring back the PROBE !!! 😛
  22. To add, supposedly Toyota is talking about bringing the Celica back, and somehow I believe Honda followed suit with saying they might bring the Prelude back. If I remember correctly (since my friends in HS had these vehicles), the reason they bombed in the 90s, was mainly the price. A Celica and Prelude back then could hit 25-28K, whereas a Mustang GT could be had for even less. Now here we are 30 years later in a declining segment of vehicles, and they still think they can pull it off...If that's the case, bring out the Probe?
  23. Mustang Mach-E sold more than regular Mustang...I guess the name,or the fact it's crossover looking, or not a "real Mustang" (as some claimted it), hasn't hurt it any...
