No I'm not. I could care less what you do. I don't work in your department, your plant, or even your country. You decision to stay or go doesn't affect me one bit.

Then why are you posting here? You have issues, and I have hit a sore spot. Inferiority complex?

[You should say "couldn't care less". That is the stronger term. If you "could care less", then maybe you do care a little. If you "couldn't care less", then you definately do not care at all. It is little things like that which show the degree of intelligence...or maybe your subconscience is trying to tell you something.]

Maybe you see wisdom in my words, and now are trying to distance yourself rather than admit that you are wrong.

We have a lot of knowledge and experience. They can either tap it to their advantage, or reap the vengeance if they dump us.

Well you either just got hired last week or fell off the turnip truck. Since you rub your seniority in the face of every Jr. member on here we know the answer. You honestly think Ford wants your opinion on anything? You aren't in Dearborn so they don't care what you think, never have never will. Just do us all a favour and find somewhere else to spread to mindless rants. This is for posting info for OAC and not your personal forum to bring up crap all the time.Go hang out in a Timmy's and see who is sitting besides you 15 minutes after you get there.Like Mayor Mel said "NOBODY"

When you are used to making 100gs plus, a 40g pension doesn't cut it. You are missing the point. Us older folk are much more capable than older folks in the past, and we had better educations than you did before the socialists screwed the schools up. (I dangled a participle; do you know what that means?) What I am saying is that it would hehoove the auto industry to show some respect for the elder employees or else they could be on the receiving end of some negative creative prose. They preyed on our mid-life crisis and sucked our money with their high end SUVs. Now they want to leave us for broke. We have a lot of knowledge and experience. They can either tap it to their advantage, or reap the vengeance if they dump us.

A word to the wise: We have a big enough lobby to elect the government. We are going to be calling the shots. Don't mess with the elderly.

hey tim guys like you with over 30 years seniority, u remind me of italian dude from niagara falls have 40 year seniority, his son has 20 years seniority. if you guys retire you get $1000 monthly government pension + ford pension what else you want. i guess there is no life outside plant, no new rumours to listen. your house is free, ur F150 is paid off. why don't you think like if I retire I am giving some young guy chance to make career. I am helping someone out. you doing good cause. anyways more you make more greedy you get. what is it $35 dollar an hour for leader and $33 on the line. :ohsnap:

Because I can.

And you need you medication upped.

EDIT: And THIS proves it.

Sorry Pioneer, but you're wasting your time with this guy. There are thousands more like him with a thousand reasons NOT to retire. They can be as eloquent in thier justifications as they like but in the end it all boils down to one thing. GREED. If you don't believe it Trimdingman, re-read most of your posts over the past few years and count all of your own references to money!

Trying to break up the revolution, the working man, the peoples choice. Well don't sing it, bring it. Me and oap_01 were talking and heard a rumor in oakville, and we just gotta know, are you with us or against us? Who knows more about up north than us. Don't get in our path, the new blood is taking over! Just come down and see. Down where?.............Down Here!!

When you're with us it's 4 life.

Do you understand what you are saying? You will always be accustomed to making 100k+, so you're telling everyone you will never retire as you didn't have the intelligence to invest and/or save money to retire comfortably.

Just what vocational high school did you go to?

Line speed will increase, we sell only one ten hour shift worth of cars a month and it takes us two ten hour shifts to make them, management is desperate to blame anyone for anything. OAC is not in good shape, Ford is not in good shape in N.A.

Chill out. You are reacting just the way the company wants you to react. Go outside of the box and look inside. Try to predict what will happen. It is a fun game. Ford is going to win this game. Shhhh. It is supposed to be a secret.

Will?

It already has.

according to scotty mccoleman the reason retirement packages are offered due to impact of vast number of layoffs affecting members in windsor. they are first in line. anyone know how many of them are there and what percentage willing to relocate to toronto. as for 142 member who lost recall rights he said we will work to give them an oppurtunity as well.

As a distant observer who owns an Edge..

An increase in line speed = greater probability of more mistakes?

Increase in mistakes = increase in warranty costs = unhappy Edge owners?

The Edge is a hot commodity - why not keep the public asking for it?

Don't mess with a good thing...

Don't listen or read Mcoolman. He only knows what others want him to think he knows.

Toronto?? Maybe to Brantford or Hamilton, but none could afford anywhere close to TO, not even Oakville (where this plant is btw).

I said it before and I'll say it again. Windsor employees get paid the same as Oakville employees. They can afford to live in Oakville just as much as any OAC employee. Only they're used to either (1) having a house, 2 cars, a boat and a skidoo or (2) having a house on a lot with acreage bigger than 50x100.

Nope. The jobs get redistributed which equals more manpower. The opposite of what happened when we slowed the line down and we were given more work with less manpower. It all evens out.

Thanks for the explanation - I understand that.

Just keep doing a great job heading into year 2 of the Edge !!

Your dreaming, two units more an hour will not affect much at all, most of the jobs are not loaded up in trim read your QPS and do the math. Management don't even know who does what? with all of the double ups in our department , 3.9's are easy to get. Good luck seeing redistribution try this, more work added, so you better get rid of all your newspapers and get ready for an extra screw.

The number they keep using here at the union meetings is 263 signed up to relocate. My personal feeling is that a large number of those signed up for St Thomas (not Toronto), or just to keep the option open (I know a number who initially signed up and later took a buyout). I would think that the real number willing to go to Oakville is in the 100- 150 range, although with about 600 newly on layoff notice, you have to wonder how many of those people they have asked? Did Scotty say anything concrete or was he just echoing the wording of the last contract?

in the newsletter he said ford made commitment in 2005 bargaining that everyone with seniority on layoff would have an oppurtunity to come to oakville if he/she choose to. i guess he was just echoing the wording from last contract. so windsorrob, you have big house, 2 cars, boats, skidoos any goats on your farm.

If you transfer from Windsor to Oakville, you could be replacing an Oakville worker who lost his recall rights because he was laid off for more than three years. Ok, take the position, but fight for the brother or sister whose job you took. He/she lives here. He /she should have more rights than an outsider. This whole thing stinks. People who lost recall rights should be re-hired before people off the street. In the old days we would have shut the place down rather than see such injustice take place. Does the union to-day have any balls, or a big clit? ( I have to be gender neutral.) Is Walter Reuther rolling in his grave? I believe so.

Get a clue already. :banghead:

These people aren't hired "off the street". They are your fellow CAW brothers and sisters. Those that were willing to strike when we were fighing for product so that you'd have a job and have the ability to spew this crap. They were Ford employees before those who lost their recall rights were Ford employees.

In the "old days"? Funny, must be more than 17 years ago, because when they actually HIRED OFF THE STREET with people on layoff, nobody shut the place down. Mind you, knowing what I do about the "connections" of some of those hired at the time, I can understand why not.

Just as I said a few months ago, [OTP temps] were told at hiring they were there to close down truck so no one should be surprised, 10 months work = three years recall with a year or two of full sub is pretty dam good for anyone, not bad for a union shop to boot. I doubt Honda/ Nissan/Toyota would throw that kind of money around. The company messed up once again with their projections and now once again everyone shits on one another looking to blame. Do you have a family member that are part of that group I wonder? People from Windsor have every right to come here and they should!! many have put 15- 20 years plus into this company they want to provde for their family what's wrong with that. Wouldn't you do the same for yours, if your plant shutdown? and it did happen at OTP.
