Lincoln Grille

Recommended Posts

I have not heard anyone comment that on the MKR concept that launched the new look on Lincoln, the split grille had tall crome slats with a single horizontal chrome slat in the middle. Ever since, on the MKS and the MKT concept, this horizontal slat has been missing. Now on the 2010 MKZ we see the horizontal slat! Does the horizontal slat denote a performance version, like an EcoBoost? That would certainly make sense on the MKS and the MKT since we know for 2010 that they will receive EcoBoost engines....does anyone know or have any theories about this. And please, no trolling. I am tired of outright negativity for negativity's sake.

The horizontal slat is on the MKS, it's a structural element however, your not meant to notice it.

The horizontal slat is not present in the MKS' grille....and I too noticed it was absent on the MKS. Maybe as ds91776 said, it's to denote the performance version.

And in the recent MKT prototype I see the horizontal bar....maybe reserved for EcoBoost versions?

Could be....I could see that along with maybe a (now ubiquitous with everybody) true fender vent/Lincoln emblem (like the MKS concept) on the EB models.

I'd assume there'd be more more obvious changes as well, but those are a few of the smaller things I could see happening for EB models.
