Only D3 sedans should count in the sales totals. Maybe the X, but you start to stretch it when you start lumping in the Flex et al. That's like trying to count the Expedition as an F150 since, technically, they are the same platform.

Besides, it still doesn't explain how the all powerful D3 sedans are performing so poorly that they are selling at the same rate as the"need to be replaced" panthers.

the next generation Taurus should sell much better than the current one.

Too bad the CV never received the same number of refreshings and redesigns as the Taurus. Oh and had a similar marketing budget to promote sales or even to be available to the general public. I am hesitant to ask that Ford redesigns the CV/GM as they might screw-up (not improve) the vehicle.

That's what we heard about the 500, but the truth is, the car was a disappointment from the word go. Be honest, Ford has spent millions and millions on the Taurus/500 since the cars heyday, and currently are getting the same results as a car that has been updated on a shoestring budget in the same time.

I would say update the panther but, like justnthrmushroom, I'm afraid they would just screw up what is a great car.
