carforford Posted November 2, 2008 Share Posted November 2, 2008 Do you guys at the factory see the Panther extending through 2010? Will the RWD go away faster with the whole gas issue? As someone that has owned a 2 Grand Marquis and 1 Crown Vic, and 2 Town Cars, all throughout the 1990's I am very sad to hear that these cars will be discontinued at some point. I am however not surprised when I have seen the way FoMoCo has not really got behind the platform by trying to keep it alive with a redesign every so often. I rented a 2007 Town Car 2 years ago and was very put off at the way the vehicle felt. It was not at all like the Town Cars of the past. It felt kinda cheap, the steering was not that great and the vehicle did not handle quite as well as the 1990-1997 LTC. That is progress? FoMoCo should really get serious about this market again (even with a fuel crisis) and know that there are people out there who would love to purchase these type of vehicles but they need to do their part and invest in them for the future.
