LaredoRV
Looking to buy an 1988 GT, but I would like to get the VIN checked... I believe 1988 is too old to get it check at the dealership ? What are your opinion on that ?
NickF1011
Spend the $20 and get a CarFax report.
bbf2530
Looking to buy an 1988 GT, but I would like to get the VIN checked... I believe 1988 is too old to get it check at the dealership ? What are your opinion on that ? Hi LaredoRV. :D NickF1011's Carfax advice is probably best. From information provided by "ViperPilot" when he used to run the "Vehicle Tracking Forum", 1988 would be far too old for a VIN check through the Ford system. In fact, when I had asked him if he could do a check on my 2001 Cougar, he stated that was too old of a vehicle. If I understood correctly, it seems older VINS are archived and not computer accessible. That is the best information I have available. Good luck. :beerchug: Edited February 2, 2009 by bbf2530
LaredoRV
Ok, thanks So there's no way I could contact with Ford ? And will a Carfax report tell me if the car was ever in an accident and were it was sold (dealership), etc ?
