gafry
I have a 2005 F-150 and for the most part I like the truck. For me to buy a new truck it needs the following. 1. A Diesel for better mileage (26 MPG or better) 2. Better access for the extended cab rear seat 3. Truck bed lock up cabinets 4. better hood latch system ( takes two people to open the hood ) 5. More stream line styling ( like 2005) not a big box front

I have a Super Crew, but the "nearly 180*" opening rear doors would be great for the Super Cab 3. I think the '09 has that, doesn't it. 4. What? Two people to open the hood? I have no issues on my '05 F150. 5. I personally like the '09 style, except for maybe the way the grill comes up into the hood.
GMarc
All it would take for me to part with my money would be the Diesel option.

More stream line styling ( like 2005) not a big box front 1) With the new EPA requirements and the weight of these trucks, I really can't see any 1/2 ton, even with a fuel efficient diesel pushing those kind of mileage numbers. Drop an old 7.3L without many of these EPA requirements and I think it could be done. Guess you could get 26mpgs from a tiny diesel, but you most likely wouldn't have much pulling power. 2) Don't know about the 04+ F150 Scabs, but never had issues accessing the rear seat of my '02 F150 Scab. 3) The new Ram with it's cargo boxes don't seem to be selling well. And they also reduce cargo volume. Personally, this wouldn't be something I'm looking for, but to each their own. 4) Own an '06 F150 Screw, can open the hood with one hand. 5) So you prefer a more '97-'03 F150 looking body style than the '04+ models? I personally like both, being I've owned both, but hear many more people disliking the more aero looking style F150 from '97-'03 than dislike the '04+ style.
