Pumpmaster
http://washingtonindependent.com/46528/how...eholder-loyalty Possibility: vehicle purchase contracts were made b4 ChryCo and GM went into bankruptcy. Good for Ford (us)!
whereswaldo
http://washingtonindependent.com/46528/how...eholder-loyalty Though it doesnt match marketshare, I dont think 46% of the purchase being Fords is that big a deal. The total purchases only makes up about 8% of the total fleet. If they bought only 2 autos and they were one Ford and one GM, someone would say that Chrysler got screwed......... Ford only received $16,279 per vehicle while GM sold each of theirs for $16540. Then there is Chrysler who sold the fewest but received the most money per vehicle $17707. Now who got screwed? rc38
Possibility: vehicle purchase contracts were made b4 ChryCo and GM went into bankruptcy. Good for Ford (us)! This would be correct. The automakers bid on contracts for the federal government anywhere from 6 to 12 months in advance. Depending on which division of government needs vehicles. My local government purchasing agent says they usually start the process 8 months out. I live next door to him, says the federal government is much the same way.
