They had originally scheduled the last production day for 11/23/10,but we are now down 2 weeks due to a labor dispute at the transmission plant in France. So the new date is 12/09/10.

Remove excise tax from health care legislation
rc38 replied to Dale143's topic in Ford Employee Forum
The rich will be hit with many more taxes in this healthcare plan than any other group. They already pay a higher percentage of income taxes than anyone else. The reason the rich get richer,as they keep working hard at what made them successful, they learn from there failures and move on. -
Remove excise tax from health care legislation
rc38 replied to Dale143's topic in Ford Employee Forum
Has nothing to do with the middle class. It has to do with what the Progressives in our Congress deem as highend healthcare plans. They consider the UAW plans as highend plans. It will affect the higher incomes more than the middle and lower classes, because they tend to negotiate higher end plans. Just goes to show how really watered down the coverage is going to be in these univeasl healthcare plans that the federal government is going to offer. But of course Congress will not get taxed on there plans, which are far better than we get now. -
There's around 5000 people between LAP and KTP. Both of our union halls our having heavy turnouts. If we have a high percentage of no votes,it won't matter what happens at the other plants.

Where in my reply did i say anything about the info in that article, this is not the first time that a article in the Louisville paper has been leaked. I was talking about the timing of the release of this article.
-
There was a article on Friday in the Louisville CJ. A real timely release on that article, when we are preparing for the info meeting on Sunday. :shades: How much you want to bet this will be brought up by the leadership at this info meeting. I'll be there to watch the fireworks, might be better than our annual Thunder over Louisville event. Here's the info on when local 862 votes,we have 5000 people between the two plants. Also Evansville's HVC is part of our local, not sure when they vote. Info meeting Sunday Oct. 25 1-5pm Fern Valley Hall Vote LAP Hall Oct. 28-29...opens 4pm 28th...closes 6pm 29th. Vote KTP Hall Oct. 29-30...opens 8pm 29th...closes 10pm 30. You can vote at either hall.

A.M.A. Opposes Government-Sponsored Healthcare Plan
rc38 replied to RangerM's topic in Lounge: Off Topic Discussion
He was probably repeating what i had posted on another topic. AP had reported that the DOT gave a figure around $8000.00 per $4500.00 transaction. My wife said that on CNN they said it now looks to be $10,000.00,and since they are having so much back log on getting the money to the dealers. I'm guessing we will not see the final tally any time soon. -
Since most dealers haven't received any checks from this program, this could take awhile. Plus their's talk about a cash for appliances program in the future. :reading: They will just transfer the employees from the DOT C4C program, and start the process all over again. The best part, the DOT will tell how much money they saved the taxpayers by cutting those 3 offices and 80 employees.
-
The DOT created three new offices and hired 80 employees for the clash for clunkers program. Cost estimates were around $8000.00 per vehicle transaction. The latest estimates out now,say over $10,000.00 per vehicle transaction. We all know that won't be the final number, and i'm sure we will never hear the final tally.
-
Why would it be news here? They are setting up vehicle financing to sell cars in India with a public bank called Punjab National Bank.

Ford Tops in Cash For Clumkers according to Edmunds
rc38 replied to Twincam Harley's topic in Ford Employee Forum
Also the DOT had to start three new departments and hire around 80 employess. Actual cost to the taxpayer was around $8000.00 for every $4500.00 rebate check. -
Why would you be going to a dealership to purchase a new car, when your out of work. And who would give you a loan? What i don't understand,is why people are so excited to see people trade in paid off older cars,to go back into debt with a car payment. This is why are country is in the condition that it is today. Both companies and people lived on the edge with no savings in reserve to get through tough times.

Japan sends U.S. letter on "Buy American" worries

Not sure when the new Explorer will be built, they have moved the build date ahead twice now. They got us now building the current model till Oct.2010. Its going from a body on frame to a unibody, and will use styling cues from the concept. It is rumoured to have sliding doors, and of course it will share alot of the goodies from the new Taurus. Beyond that its anybodies guess,of course will see more in the coming year.

Also if you go to sell your home,it will need to have a rating high enough for you to be allowed to sell it. If not,you will have to update your home to the standards that they say you need to meet. Which could cost you thousands of dollars. This bill makes the California building standards, now the federal building standards. Yes they will now overide ALL local building standards. Vehicles will have to comply with the new Califonia laws, they will be the new federal standards also. Fun times ahead!

Ford Transit Connect in Dearborn
rc38 replied to BORG's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
This is the Transit Connect that is imported from Turkey. -
This would be correct. The automakers bid on contracts for the federal government anywhere from 6 to 12 months in advance. Depending on which division of government needs vehicles. My local government purchasing agent says they usually start the process 8 months out. I live next door to him, says the federal government is much the same way.

Ford to Invest $400 Million In Wayne Plant
rc38 replied to Footballfan's topic in Ford Employee Forum
Maybe you should read the article a little more carefully. Nothing in the article about WAP building anything after the current Focus. The Wayne stamping plant is getting retooled for the new Focus, that is being assembled at the new MAP. It has already reported in this topic and others about Lap's retool dates. Everyting else is pure speculation and rumours. -
