robogamer55
Fellow UAW Members, I have been recently ILO from the WHSP. I was wondering if there are other Electricians that were put on ILO. It seems kind of odd that Electricians and Stationary Engineers were not aloud to get a buy-out offer from Ford this time, making it appear that they needed these trade badly. If anyone has any input about this subject i would like to hear from them..... thanks UAW Brother

I believe once they start retooling the plants they will be taking people again because they will have the money for them.

There is 4 electricians at the pilot plant (Allen Park, MI) that are supose to go on ILO within the next few weeks. They haven't given us a date, they are keeping us over shutdown until we get some substation PM's and other work done. I had heard the same, that there were alot of plants short, just no recs in for them. We will keep our fingers crossed.

jdima43558
None! We really don't have enough electricians to run as it is. I thought WHSP meant Woodhaven but it must mean Walton Hills. Thanks for the info on Woodhaven.
Captain723
How many electricians did they layoff at Woodhaven Stamping. Sounds like a lot of people signed to transfer! Hope these turn into permanent positions, but most likely not. Good luck guys/gals!! Edited July 7, 2009 by Captain723

Flyin Pig
Robo, DoggDay, I am one of those who transferred to OHAP...I went through apprenticeship in 2000 and am licensed. One of the other guys is an electrician/contractor... I think he'd been working production there for 19-20 years. I believe the other two went through their apprenticeship at their previous plant. I went through some preliminary training with them and in my opinion, these guys are qualified...I mean, its obvious to me they have a keen understanding of our trade and troubleshooting skills, also.
