For as much as you blast the Mondeo for its "boring, dull, jellymoulded styling", you sure can't get enough of the Fiesta's and Ka's boring, dull, jellymoulded styling, can you?

:hysterical: Ka (Close 2nd to Fiat 500) & Fiesta (Best in class) are two cracking little cars Nick FWD is not my cup of tea though Nick, l am still working on the wife to buy a new Fiesta Econetic but she still wants another new Pug 207 diesel.

Mondeo is where most of Fords market share has disappeared thats why l dont like it.

Cortina averaged 16,500 UK ONLY car sales every month as it faced the axe. Mondeo sells only 8,900 units to the WHOLE of EUROPE.

Ford needs something like a smaller RWD Falcon in Europe to offer something more than the FWD mafia Mondeo the No1 choice of RWD BMW 3 Series buyer which is market sales leader in this class of car in Europe..

This is where your argument is constantly FLAWED though. The entire European market has shifted toward smaller cars. Do you really think the Cortina would have prevented that? Heck no. All of the other midsize cars in Europe have suffered the same fate as the Mondeo. The 3-series comparison is irrelevant also. The 3-series is a compact car.

Get over it. It's a flawed argument.

It just proves the point buyers don't want boring shaped cars if folk are not buying boring shaped shit like the Mondeo, Mazda 6, that all look the like the same identical boring junk.

Folk are bored with the Mondeo class shape, BMW 3 series is best seller in Mondeo class because it offer exciting RWD.

If l liked FWD cars which l don't, l would buy a small Ka or Fiesta because they are million times more exicting shape than a boring bland dull Mondeo that offers nothing new shapewise. You just know what the 2015, 2020, 2025, 2030 Mondeo will look like the same shape :boring: :boring: :boring: :boring: :boring: :boring: even before you get to see the photo's of it.

Dull Mondeo class of car as bored the buyers into buying small cars in Europe.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA? :hysterical::hysterical:

You are off your rocker.

The only thing it proves is that Europeans don't want midsize cars anymore. What about the 3-series or Focus is different in its overall shape than the Mondeo, Mazda6, or any other midsizer?

Give it up, FJ. You have gone completely freaking loopy.

Only thing that is loopy is you Nick

I can remember when the RWD Cortina used to sell 53,500 cars in August in the UK ONLY.

Today the Mondeo struggles to sells a rather loopy looking 8,900 cars to the WHOLE of EUROPE.

Only an idiot like loopy Nick would think that 8,900 characterless Mondeo sales are good thing. Gotta say l prefer it when Cortina/Taunus & Escort used to be Europes No1 best selling car not Europes No 101 best selling car like the Mondeo is.

Once again FJ, it's not 1986 anymore. It's almost 2010. The cars changed because the market changed. Not the other way around. How did the Fiesta sell in the UK when the Cortina was selling 53,000 units? Not very well, I'll wager.

FWD, RWD it doesn't matter. Most people don't know the difference nore do they care.

If your argument is to hold water you need to prove a few more things.

How many midsized cars are sold these days compared to back when the cortina ruled to roost?

Based on observation alone the numbers are much smaller.

As a precentage of current mid sized sales how does the mondeo measure up?

Can someone please close this thread? Seems like the same argument month after month. While Europe's sales numbers are interesting, it always heads down the same FJ vs. the rest of the world argument, month after month.

I feel like I'm stuck in some sort of time paradox... :banghead:

3-Series is compact, Mondeo is mid size...end of story. The EU market has shifted from mid size to compact and withn the last year to more sub compact. Even the US is seeing a shift from mid size to compact now.

BMW 3 Series does not sell in the compact class in Europe it is considered a Mondeo rival, low volume quality car producer outsells mass produced Mundane Mondeo these days, it never happened in the past the Beamer never got a look in when Cortina was No1 sales king in Europe for nearly all its life, the Mundane fails to make Europes top 10..

Compact Class what no 3 series?

Call it whatever the hell you want. The 3-series is a compact. The Mondeo is not.

And with that, another FJ lamefest comes to an end.
