94ranger
Does anybody know if Ford's big SUVs are going to survive? There are still people out there that could use the towing and passenger capacity they offer. Even if the Navigator dropped down to the new Explorer size and used an adaptation of that platform the Expedition could still prove profitable especially if a small diesel V8 or 6 was available. I just hate to see these vehicles go the way of the big RWD cars (exc. Town Car for now) and the Excursion.
NickF1011
It seems likely there will be a next gen of both, however many are suggesting that they will return more to their F-150 roots than the current generation to save money on platform development. That's virtually guaranteed. There is really no reason to have a separate platform given future volumes. I expect the Expy to be a F150 supercrew with an enclosed bed and extra seat while the Navigator will get unique sheetmetal, interior and drivetrain.
