Just got word from our trusty union down town yesterday that the company will be offering 10,000 buyouts with a voucher in Nov to workers with 15 years or more in. Sign up will be held at DTP HR starting Nov 16th.

 

I wonder why the local or in plant union hasn't said anything to us about this yet or passed out anything in black and white.

 

Gee I wonder who's going to jump at these buyouts? lol

 

I bet there are a couple idiots like "The Dirty One" that would take it.. lol

Once again you are full of shit. The membership is done with buy outs. The last two buyouts company wide did not even get close to 100 people signing up.

 

Who did you talk to "downtown"?

No I will not name this person, why would I give up my source so he can be bombarded with phone calls all day long by idiots? Hell no.

 

Yes I suspect it's company wide right? ask your union for the information in black and white or if they heard about it yet. It's coming down the pike soon, they may not have it. Signups for this are always in HR so I assume your plant's HR department will also have the sign up wherever your at. It is for Ford facilities tho obviously and not any ACH plants. However those left over Ford workers in ACH plants will have the opportunity to take them. A Notice will be given out 1st week of NOV.

 

When this happens you can all come back in this thread and apologize to me for me being right. I personally wipe my ass with 10,000 dollars.. Do they can stick it up theirs.

BTW my motive for posting these videos is so that you keep the membership in the back of your mind next time you go vote. If you watch the video you will see more then words, you will see there are people behind the words. People matter. I like the first guy's suggestion about the "Blue Flu" idea. If everyone got together and didn't come in and got doctor's notes for 1 day, I think our messages would be heard.

When we had our informational meeting for AAI posting plants to transfer this summer, Chuck Browning said anyone who still wanted a buyout could file a grievance to get it, as they were "batting a thousand" on getting workers the buyout even though the window was "officially closed". Ford was not advertising this fact, but they would still love more people to leave, so they can hire $14 an hour workers. I don't think they will have another round of official company wide buyouts, because they want the public perception to be that everything is going great, and there's no need for more buyouts. It's still possible it could happen, but very few took it the last two times, and they would have to significantly sweeten the offer to have anyone else even THINK about it.

I can't speak about AAI cause I never worked there, but I agree what you say, I don't think anyone in their right mind would take a 10K buyout with a white ticket to go buy a Fusion. I think it's a slap in the face to the workers. But the IUAW has it setup so that "YOU" the worker at any time can request a buyout package. Doesn't mean your going to get it, but you have this right.

 

Yes the reason for any buyout package would be to get low wage workers in. If the company can prove they need help and are short handed then they can unfreeze the hiring and start bringing in new people at the 2nd tier level wage. I would assume they would first have to make some of those people already working as temps official Ford workers tho. I am not a union official so I do not know the process like I would love too.

 

The last round of buyouts were 25k I believe, they will low ball buyouts because even if they get 5 people to take those buyouts they are saving millions in the long run on healthcare benefits, pension benefits, wage benefits etc etc, better known as "LEGACY" costs.

 

If I was a CEO and you came up to me and said, I have 10 people that want your buyout offer and wish to leave, we stand to make 4 million off this deal, I will make you my boo... (sorry for the slang) but you know what I mean. :shades:
