    It's a beautiful day. Birds are falling out of the sky. Fish dyin by the thousands. Isn't it comforting to know that all of these silly worries about our retirement are no longer valid? I look at it as a good thing. I'm optimistic. I have no more worries about dying poor. Thank God the apocolyspe got here before the corporations took our money away from our retirement fund. LIFE IS GOOD! DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY!

    LEP is my home plant, and I welcome my new co-workers to Lima. I have been a transfer and I know what you are going through. I appreciate the hard long-fought negotiations our past representatives went thru to get a national transfer agreement in our contract. It is a job security issue, and whether it affects you positively or negatively, it's important to understand why we have this agreement; to secure the jobs of those workers who have paid dues their whole lives. Let us continue to win jobs for our fellow Americans through good faith bargaining, but let us not forget the ones who have worked hard for this company the longest. Respect for seniority is at the core of our agruments, as well as our agreement. It is a principle that we should never surrender.

    Many if not most of the new union employees have education beyond high school, and they know what a 10-12 hour day on a factory floor is like, unlike some people sitting on their cushioned high-back office chair with a pretty diploma on their wall.

    10-12 hours a day is always going to have negative effects on efficiency and quality. People get tired and lose focus after 7-8 hours of anything, let alone this type of work. Yes Ford is doing well, but I see problems ahead if they don't change the way they set hours. Just a 35 years-of-experience opinion.
