RichardJensen
Not feelin' it. Looks like more than one click to get from any system to any other system. That automatically puts it behind MFT.

NickF1011
Those graphics look downright impressive............NOT. Eh, it's not lik the MFT graphics blow them away. I like the idea of customizable "apps" -- something I hope MFT will offer soon.
RichardJensen
MFT has an API. Understandably, they're not releasing it yet.
NickF1011
MFT has an API. Understandably, they're not releasing it yet. Well, AppLink is already available on the Fiesta, and was just announced that it will be on the 2012 Mustang. There are only a few apps available though. RichardJensen
Maybe because Ford has stricter standards than Toyota. That Bing app looks like nothing more than a five or six line wrapper around the Bing home page. I don't think that Toyota is capable of properly evaluating these systems. NickF1011
Maybe because Ford has stricter standards than Toyota. Could be. It appears the AppLink plug-in is compatible to be added to non-AppLink versions of Sync too. Looking forward to its release for my Edge! :D
RichardJensen
Ford's standards may include mandatory use of the voice recognition APIs, for instance, as well as support for the right side IP screen, in order to minimize driver distraction. They may also require content filtering, etc. That would certainly slow development as compared to a Toyota system that seems to be a little more than a browser running on a touch screen.
