NLPRacing
Yes, Lariat and up. Really? Since when?
Tatunka
Really? Since when? I guess I can't be 100% sure because I don't build or engineer them, but multiple people have stated that the 2011 has a thicker windshield and more sound proofing. I'll try and find links for you or somebody with the inside line could pipe up. Edited February 14, 2011 by Tatunka
Tatunka
Now that I reviewed my sources it looks like the platinum for sure gets the windshield and soundproofing, but I thought I saw something that the 2011 lariat got it too. BS Racing
I think they may have better sound dampening, but I can't see Ford having more than 1 windshield for the F150 body style.
PWR Kid
Platinum gets quieter lamintaed windshield. Thats it. Lariat does not.
BS Racing
Platinum gets quieter lamintaed windshield. Thats it. Lariat does not. Color me wrong I guess, I thought all the windshields were laminated? It is a safety thing isn't it?
Ford850
Color me wrong I guess, I thought all the windshields were laminated? It is a safety thing isn't it? I found some the 2010 ordering guide that said the Platinum had a "thicker laminated windshield". I assume that means it is thicker than the other F-150 laminated windshields. I haven't found any reference to that in the 2011 guide though so who knows if they still have them.

DUCKRACER
Platinum gets quieter lamintaed windshield. Thats it. Lariat does not. Well, there is an UPSIDE for us lowly Lariat buyers. We can listen better to our 5.0 and 6.2 V8 motors;-)
BrianS
Don't know but my 2011 EB Lariat has sound deadening panels inside the front fenders in the engine bay.
coreground
Don't know but my 2011 EB Lariat has sound deadening panels inside the front fenders in the engine bay. I found this reference: Extra sound proofing on EcoBoost models ensures that you'll have to pay close attention to notice any turbo spool-up. http://www.truckinweb.com/features/1102tr_2011_ford_f150_engines/index.html When I test drove I could barely hear the turbos until I took it out of OD.
