  1. I think the Ranger will be back soon. It's been spotted in MI, so obviously someone is testing it here for a reason.
  2. More than likely it they were on hold to get the reflash or other updates from TSB 12-2-10.
  3. Has anyone heard of the date when they will start Job2 for the F150's this year? I know it was very early last year but i haven't heard a thing this year. Thanks.
  4. This is from the Owners Guide: Driving off-road with truck and utility vehicles 4WD vehicles are specially equipped for driving on sand, snow, mud and rough terrain and have operating characteristics that are somewhat different from conventional vehicles, both on and off the road. Your vehicle may be equipped with a front air dam that can become damaged (due to reduced ground clearance) when taking your vehicle off-road. This air dam can be taken off by removing two bolts. For vehicles equipped with a 3.5L Ecoboost™ engine: Your vehicle is equipped with an underbody transmission shield and brackets that may become damaged (due to reduced ground clearance) when taking your vehicle off-road. Remove the shield by disengaging the fasteners at each corner of the shield. Then, remove the shield rear brackets by removing the bracket to frame bolts, or have your authorized dealer perform the work for you
  5. It sounds like it was delayed until today 8/24. Does anyone have alink to the PDF they can post yet?
  6. It sounds like they are already accepting some new truck orders with Nav. That's good news.
  7. I've read bits and pieces in other forums, where guys have pasted parts from the F150 2012 order guide that was released today. Can someone post a link to the PDF?
  8. The speed of orders really depends on what truck you ordered. Cab size, bed size, packages, tire size, color, bed liner, and other otions all affect the scheduled build time. Some of those things each affect the build time by adding 4 weeks. Then there are delivery delays which are outside of Ford's control (to an extent). Some have seen their trucks sit "at ramp" for many weeks before starting the delivery route. I think the delivery delays are shorter now though.
  9. He didn't order one. He's saying the "Initial order acceptance for 2012 Model Year F-150 is tentatively scheduled for August 15, 2011". That's the tentative date that they will first accept 2012 orders.
  10. That is great news. I had only seen dealers posting about the message from Ford stating no more in 2011 and none for MY2012. Thanks!
  11. Ford's already said that Nav will not be available for MY2012. Are you willing to wait until MY2013? I'm not.
  12. I would talk to your dealer again. Let him tell you the incorrect info again. Ask him if he's sure (and he will say yes since Salesmen know everything). Then tell him you'll expect "X" accessory from the dealer if he is wrong. Maybe you can get a bed mat or something out of his ignorance. I would try it.
  13. You ordered a truck on Feb 5th, and you posted on March 27th about wandering through a Ford dealer's lot comparing trucks and ranting about how you want to buy a FX2 but they aren't much less than an XLT or vica versa. What gives?
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if the skid plates alone, bought as parts, cost you as much as the Offroad package upgrade costs you.
  15. JDF, That first guy's truck in your link is a Raptor, so whatever is going on is not limited to the Ecoboost. Not that it matters much, but just an fyi.
  16. While just a couple weeks ago the "experts" were predicting gas prices to reach $4 by summer, and some areas might see $5. Some areas are over that threshold already this week and they are predicting $6/gallon gas by summer now. I can hardly wait to see what another 2 weeks will bring.
  17. I found some the 2010 ordering guide that said the Platinum had a "thicker laminated windshield". I assume that means it is thicker than the other F-150 laminated windshields. I haven't found any reference to that in the 2011 guide though so who knows if they still have them.
  18. Is it true that F150 Lariats and above are built with thicker windshields and better insulation for a quieter ride?
  19. If there is a difference I don't it's noticable. The Ecoboosts seem to be rolling into the dealerships now so you should see some soon.
  20. The cab size hasn't changed, but I wonder if the seats have chnaged slightly giving more leg room in either the front or back row. The aftermarket floor mats are not interchangeable between the 2009-10 vs 2011 models, so something changed.
  21. Pioneer, The problem is there are 2 stories floating around as to why the plant shut down. The memo linked above is linked to many truck forums read by thousands of people. The next day the Detroit news published the article with quotes from Ford stating the shutdown was due to parts for the 3.7 and 3.5 V6 engines with no mention of the 5.0 issues. With so many truck forums linked to both stories, it is causing a LOT of speculation. Now with the word that the storage lots are filling, and people complaining on the many forums that few new trucks are arriving to the dealers, it sure sounds like a quality hold. If the delays are due to several issues and poor managing of the product work flow, that would be fine. A quality hold would be fine too. The problem is there are too many partial stories floating around leading to speculation by antsy buyers who are all jacked up waiting for these trucks to finally hit the dealers lots. That's says the Ford marketing has done it's job. I hope the supply catches up with the demand pretty soon. -Thanks for building a qulaity product and keep up the good work.
  22. Haha. I think we all know the answer to that question. Good luck getting through to this one.
  23. I know. I'm going to have to give up something from my wish list when i buy one. I'm still holding out hope that option selections will change in my favor by then.
  24. I have vinyl floors in a sport trac and absolutely love them. I have carpeted mats that clip in place and they make all the difference. They trap dirt, slop, water, and I just pull them out to hose off occasionally. The vinyl floor is in perfect shape and the mats are barely worn after 80k miles. I plan to buy an f150 within a year, and that is one of the top options I am looking for. I would like a Lariat but they don't offer the vinyl floors so I might have to buy the XLT to get them. I use my truck for hard sloppy work, but also as a business "car" and the vinyl floor with carpeted mats have been the best combination of any vehicle I have owned. If they offer carpeted mats as an option, buy them. They last much longer than any aftermarket mats.
  25. You select Max Tow later in the build process when using the Ecoboost. As already posted, you have the option with the 3.5 but with the 6.2 you don't so the max tow is added up front.
