niteeyes
With better gas mileage than the Ranger, sure did like them. Ranchero is what i meant. Edited September 27, 2011 by niteeyes
T'Cal
Ford could spread out some of the R&D costs by building a few vehicles off of the next version of the Mustang platform. I'd love to see them include a Ranchero ute, a Torino 5 passenger coupe, and a Lincoln sedan and convertible.
blksn8k2
If they can't justify a Ranger replacement I would not expect to see any other new "trucks" even being thought of. By the way, Ford does sell the Falcon Ute in OZ. It is the same concept as the original Ranchero: a car with a truck bed in lieu of a back seat and trunk. The original Ranchero was not that difficult to design. All they had to do was cut the rear section of the roof off of a 2-door 1957 Ranch Wagon. brianinswfla
The Falcon Ute is a cool concept and probably has a ton of utility however the dimensions just seem off a bit to me. Rather than looking like a smooth flowing design it just looks like they took a sedan, cut off the back half, and slapped a truck bed back there. I do love the idea of a new Torino. I had a 1975 Torino with a 351W during the early 90's. I loved that big piece of crap. Dark blue paint with a dark blue top. Limo tint on the windows. Big mag wheels. It was awesome.
