bobbyd
Our family bought a nice 2006 F150 4wd (65000 miles) and after a week or so we notice a 2-3 second delay with the transmission. Should we first go to a transmission place and get an opinion and then return to dealer to bargain on the repair cost? We love the truck but worry that something is wrong. Any suggestions?

theoldwizard
So when was the last time the transmission fluid changed ? IIRC, the F-Series transmissions are supposed to have their ATF changed every 3 years or 36,000 miles. Do NOT use generic fluid ! Take it to a shop that will guarantee they will use the proper Motorcraft fluid.
