RichardJensen
http://media.ford.com/products/press_artic...&make_id=92 Interesting tidbit from the release: "Expedition’s third row seats offer a full foot more legroom than the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, and the Toyota Sequoia". In reality, it's more like 1' more than the Tahoe, the same amount of legroom as the Suburban, and 10" more than the Sequoia. Actually the Tahoe's 3rd row is useless. It has less legroom and headroom than the Freestyle and Explorer Edited July 25, 2006 by RichardJensen

BORG
The new Expedition is a futile effort in the current climate and probably won't see the sueccess the GM units saw a few months back.

Since when have the GMT9000 shown any success..the big sales at the start of the year where due to the older models getting blown out at the same time as the new models went on sale. Michael Reynolds
The new Expedition is a futile effort in the current climate and probably won't see the sueccess the GM units saw a few months back. Key words here 'a few months back', what does that say about any new product offering? Yet, the Expedition is a futile effort? Give me and everyone else around here a break. Awesome pricing strategy if you ask me, makes it a bit more affordable for those that still want these beasts.
Michael Reynolds
Wow. Looks great in black. I'm kinda disappointed in the HP, though. Yeah, I'm hoping the 6 speed is well connected to that engine.
RichardJensen
HP is about on a par with what you can get in that price range. Where it really hurts is on the Navi.
BORG
The Navi may not need an engine to make an impression. Whether it makes a good one remains to be seen.

Not trying to be deliberately contrary here, but a 100 hp difference is nothing to sneeze at. Not at a price range where gas prices are not impacting the all important Starbucks budget. BORG
The weaker HP rating doesn't come with stronger gas mileage does it?
RichardJensen
The weaker HP rating doesn't come with stronger gas mileage does it? Slightly better, I'm assuming, but not enough to make any difference. The Escalade has about 10% worse gas mileage than the Tahoe.
igor
the GM V8's have actually better mileage than the Ford V8's ... the Escalade will have 100 extra ponies AND identical, if not better mileage ... the smaller engine in the tahoe does 16/22 while ford does 14/19 in 2006, and might do 15/20 in 2007. And keep in mind the Tahoe still has 4 speed automatic. Igor Edited July 26, 2006 by igor
