Gr8hse
Can someone help? I have an 04 F150 5.4L XLT SuperCrew with 139" WB that I need to change the u-joints out in. Well, after removing the driveshaft, I find that the U-joints are "staked" and am told I have to change the whole assembly. My question is, will a driveshaft from a 2007 F-150 5.4L XLT SuperCrew interchange with my vehicle without modifications? Any help would be greatly appreciated. YT90SC
Buy ONE of the Ford U/Joint kits. They come with a cutter for the stakes. Then the joints can be pressed out/in just like they always have. Shaft replacement is unnecessary.
thefatcobra
Someone else has a posting, replacing staked u-joints on ford f150 forum. It would be pretty costly if a person had to get a new shaft just to replace bad u-joints!
theoldwizard
Better yet take it to a place that specializes in driveshafts.
waloud
How many miles do you have on the truck? I have an 05, still haven't touched it.
