FinalFusionEngineInspector
Hello Blue Oval Buddies, My wife drives a 2005 Ford Escape, we have a on going issue that started about a year ago. For no reason at all, the panic alarm goes off. It is so random, there is no pattern too it whatsoever. Day and night, cloudy or sunny, hot or cold. I did some research, and thought it might be the hood switch(a small push button, that was possibly shorting out) i tried bypassing it and thought that was it! It actually went a couple weeks without any problem. Then all the sudden it started its same ole' thing! I also thought it might be a battery problem. After more research, the alarm goes off when there is a sudden drop in battery voltage. Once again, for a week or two it was all good, then guess what happened? That mother @#%?/'*, went off again! HELP! Im ready to sell it, if i cant find the problem! It is really a great vehicle, with the exception of this panic thing. Any HELP, on this matter, is greatly appreciated! Steve L. 19yr. ajcomputer
Check the door wiring for any broken wires, especially in the hinge area
doubleagent13
FFEI, No luck so far. The only TSB (technical service bulletin) that came up for your vehicle was one for electrical interference due to an issue with the coil-on-plugs. I'll keep looking and if I come up with anything I will let you know.
