RangerM
We issue a copy of all our truck keys to each driver to allow for flexibility, however we are now bumping up against the 10 key limit on one of our trucks. The vehicle is a 2009 Chevy 2500HD. Ford F-series have a "contractor mode" that allows for an unlimited number of programmed ignition keys (for all I know they may simply be clones of the same key, but that's what the Ford dealer told me), but I cannot find if Chevy does. The dealer has never heard of this (or claims as much). I've searched Google, and can find no reference. (maybe I'm using the wrong terms) Does anyone know if it's possible to have more than 10 programmed keys for this Chevy? akirby
I don't know but I thought locksmiths had the ability to "clone" a smart key using a programmable blank. In that case it would only see one key no matter how many clones you made.
RangerM
After further checking, that's the only solution I could come up with. Got clones of one key and they work as expected, without wiping the others.
