Redneck10000
I have 2014 edge awd. Almost fifty thousand miles. No climate control. Last year the heat quit working. A couple of days later it started working again. It was still under warranty so I took it to the dealer. They found nothing wrong. It quit working again & now its out of warranty. I'm a heavy truck mechanic by trade & have always done my own maintenance. I understand how heating systems work. The operating temp is running normal so Ive ruled out the thermostat. I need to know if anybody have seen this before. Where is the temp valve located or does it just have a diverter door? Everthing else is working fine, just no hot air. Thanks for any help. fordtech1
Doesn't have a valve just a temp door. Are the heater hoses hot? It's probably an actuator. Haven't seen many issues with that year edge climate control. I think I had one with similar concerns and ended up being an actuator. I'm assuming it's not dual zone AC. Redneck10000
Basic heater system. No dual climate control. It has heat on both sides of the heater core. Is the temp door the one right behind the glove box? Because that one seems to be working ok. If not where is the temperature actuator? Do I have to take the whole dash out to get to it? Thanks. fordtech1
It's on the left side of console above Accel pedal. Try disconnecting battery and see if the head will reset. Had one that after a reset it started working.
Redneck10000
Thank you. Now I know where to look. Will let you know progress. Already tried the battery disconnect/reset trick. Didn't work.
Redneck10000
Fixed it! I found the actuator you described, unplugged it, plugged it back in & it started working. Go figure. Now I know where to look if it does it again. Thank you so much for the help.
fordtech1
That's great. Good deal. It may not happen for a while.
ajcomputer
I don't know off the top of my head, but there was a tsb for that generation edge that said there is a new HVAC calibration to prevent this from happening again.
