Emigh
Regarding the buyouts, is it true that if you take the $100,000 buyout you immediately pay Uncle Sam $40,000 off the top?
rockford
Regarding the buyouts, is it true that if you take the $100,000 buyout you immediately pay Uncle Sam $40,000 off the top? You will probably walk away with ~ $58k after all taxes and withholdings.

rebjim
If you have a Ford Credit account, they take that off the top as well.
hi-lo feva2
It's just not worth it guys. We should be demanding 150,000 to 200,000 straigh up. Uncle sam bends you over backwards. I've heard so many pipe dreams. "You won't miss your water till the well runs dry". Anyone that takes a buyout is just desperate to get away from the "doom and gloom", and I feel ya. It's just not a good idea though. 58 grand, take out for ford credit account, pay off some bills, maybe some insurance and you basically just walked away with peanuts. Get back with me in two years and let me know how your doing and 9 times out of 10 you won't be as well off as you were at Ford. Education buyout, give me a break. If you are so smart you'd be in school now getting paid and going to school now. That's right working and going to school if that's what you really wanted. "If it's not worth sacraficing for, it's not worth having". One more thing, "In bad times, Ford is the best bitch you will ever have".

FORD CREWCAB
If you have a Ford Credit account, they take that off the top as well.No they dont, why are you trying to stirr shit up. When you purchase a car or truck, do you remember signig a contract stateing that you would make payments for 5 to 7 yrs whatever plan you signed. That would be aganist the law for them to do that. SLAP SPARKIE
If you have any outstanding THESPE loans they take the amount of your loan from your buyout. Thats a fact.
