  1. The suppliers receive an Operation Plan for each plant 3 months in advance. The plan I saw went through April and showed a plan of 80hrs production for all the weeks of April.
  2. There was an issue with supplier quality, take the truck back to the dealer and tell them you want certified stock from the supplier.
  3. Trim, Chas 1 and Frame 1 will Tag, Chas 2 and Frame 2 will Mass (go figure). Tire room will remain on the 3 8hr shifts until they can workout some of the issues they have with keeping up with the line.
  4. Ford set up the stamping plants as the SBU (Stamping Business Unit) just like the parts division, ACH. And you can see what is now happening to the ACH plants.
  5. FYI... The Fed Govt did away with the mandatory OT pay last year. Ford is under no legal obligation to pay OT over 40hrs.
  6. Don't believe everything you hear. The person in the accident is one of my supervisors, she was not injured. The lines are running and the gates are open.
  7. If the rumors are true about the number of orders for the 2008, Then we will need to go back to 3-crew. Hearing the order bank for 2008 is around 100,000.
  8. You will probably walk away with ~ $58k after all taxes and withholdings.
  9. Plant Manager announced it this morning: 5 down weeks between Aug 21 and Oct 1
  10. The last 1/2 hour of each shift will be the remainder of their break for that shift and the next shift will take over at their start time.
  11. '07 got the OK To Ship today, right on schedule. :happy feet:
  12. Here are the totals for 2005 F-Series sold in the US that have at least one month of service. Does not include any import/export vehicles. F-Series > 8500 - 291,328 F-Series < 8500 - 517,346
  13. What kind of noise is it making? Does it do it only on a hard turn? Left turn, right turn, or both?
  14. KTP is setting up chairs and we are scheduled to go down at 10:00am for about 1 hour.
  15. Are the plants planning on shutting down for the announcement. From the communication we received from the plant manager, it doesn't sound like we will be shutting down. Here is what he said: "We are working on the plan to communicate the Way Forward announcement to all employees. I'll advise accordingly what our communication plans are." This does not sound to me like they are going to let us view it first hand, they will let us know after the fact. Has anyone else heard how they are going to communicate the announcement to us? I always read about our profit sharing in the local paper before Ford lets us know, so why should plant closings be any different?!
  16. No Air Susp as of right now, frame, axle, etc are essentially the same. Not sure about the 6-speed. The grill now raises with the hood, the tailgate has Super Duty stamped into it, the interior under went a complete make-over.
  17. All the units that were built at KTP have been taken to Michigan for test purposes. There are not any here to see. Plus with the new rules about zero camera phones allowed in the plant, I don't want to be the one sneaking a picture.
  18. The 2007 SD will be the same style as what we at KTP are building now. The new design will start production in Jan of 2007 and will be considered the 2008 model. I was told that the availability of a newly formulated diesel fuel that the 6.4L would run more efficiently on is what has pushed the production back. The oil companies were not able to get this to market in order for the 6.4L to launch in Oct of 2006 for the 2007MY. This info was from some engineers at KTP and is probably subject to change.
  19. KTP is already on a 40 hour schedule. The overtime is only for breakdowns in order to make up lost production for that shift, and that may be only a couple of tenths per week.
  20. KTP/LAP - We are being told that the results will not be posted until Wednesday. Give them time to cast all the yes votes for those who did not vote.
  21. Instead of asking the retirees and hourly workforce to sacrifice, why don't you ask FORD what the upper level management is going to give up. Let's take one example: All Area Managers and above get 2 lease cars a year paid by the company, one for themselves and one for their spouse. If they sacrifice one of these per year, that would save on average $5000.00 per person. That may not seem like a lot but it's a step toward helping the retiree's. We need to make sure that sacrifice comes at all levels. They can't ask the hourly workers and retiree's to sacrifice if they are not willing to do the same. The retiree's paved the way for what we have now, we can not abandon them when they need us most. Just remember that you may be there one day and hopefully there will be someone there to fight for what you had been promised.
  22. At KTP: Wednesday, Nov 23, 2005, day before Thanksgiving-Night shift starts at 6pm-get off at 4:30am Thanksgiving morning. Friday before Christmas Eve will be the same situation.
  23. Look at page 8 of the info packet that was sent out. Look at all the "N/A"s beside the ACTIVE row. If you think these are going to remain through 2011, you are sadly mistaken. The only thing that will stay is the wage contributions. If we agree to make the concessions now, in 2007 they will be foaming at the mouth to go after the active workers healthcare contribution. And if you think the retirees are being asked to pay a lot on their fixed income, wait and see what they ask us to pay!
