Beau
99 expedition triton v8. Think I am experiencing a short, fuse, or keyfob issue. The vehicle will not start. I have what I believe may be a dealer installed sarting circuit interuptor. I have always had to push the unlock tab on my key fob in order to allow the engine to be start. Now when I push the fob nothing happens, meaning doors do not unlock, and turning the key to start does absolutly nothing. Also pushing the door lock and unlock button on the interior doors does nothing at all. I did replace the battery in the fob w/no success. Also I can start the vehicle with the key in the on position and jumping accross the voltage regulator. Any ideas?
Beau
Also checked fuse box and inline fuse to a box w no part number but marked fordmotor company security system.
MKX1960
On an old Mopar, that would indicate the starter relay is bad. Not sure if Ford has the same setup.
fordtech1
Look for an alarm box under steering column. There should be a over ride button hidden somewhere close to the box. There should be some inline fuses that power that module also.
Beau
Yes, I found both the reset button and inline fuse. Fuse is fine (not blown) and pushing the reset has no results. Wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram?
