jb6992
Hello, has anyone replaced the heater core on one of these and could help me with tips, tricks, or steps to replacing it? It leaks on the floor and the blower motor will make a funny sound sometimes. Do they have problems with these and should I replace the blower motor too? Thank You and have a great day! gthims
Hi Before replacing the heater core, check for a clogged drain tube, you may have debris inside the box making the fan sound funny and clogging the drain tube, Whenever I have had a heater core leak there has been a very distinct antifreeze smell inside the vehicle. I think the blower motor is very easy to replace if necessary, it was on my Escape.
jb6992
Yes, thank you very much for the quick response! That's exactly what it is. Going to remove the blower motor and clean everything out!
YT90SC
You need to get UNDER the car to clean out the drain. Its on the driver's side on the tunnel about 3 or 4 inches behind the front of the heat shield. I've found that a wet/dry shop vac works well to pull the crap out. A lot of water will come out.

Hes correct you will get wet! Especially crawling under it. Cant move away fast enough! A lot of water is an understatement. It will pee for a while.
