Edge talk on Autoline Detroit

IMSA-XJR9

Recommended Posts

Anybody watch Autoline Detroit this past weekend?

There was brief discussion on the Edge. John McElroy asked Frank Markus, Motor Trend and

Wes Raynal, AutoWeek about their recent driving impressions of the Edge.

Some of their comments . .

No third row seating (why no third row?)

Only "D" and "L" selections for the transmission

Heavy

Again . . no thrid row seating

To John's credit he stated he would wait to compile his own opinion.

I saw one in person this past week at a local dealer in Cincinnati. I love the looks of the Edge. I can't wait to drive one.

never heard people complain of the Murano not haveing a 3rd row ..

there is space for narrow 7 seaters like the Rav4, and wide more luxurious 5 seaters like the Murano and Edge - especially when Ford has the Freestyle and working on the fairlane.

I agree. Seems like negative press feever IMHO.

Ford covers 3 rows with the Explorer and Frestyle now and probably with the Fairlane in the near future so why criticize the Edge?

well look at it this way....if those are the criticisms than that is not to bad.....how long have we known that it did not have a 3rd seat-2 years?

I do hate the fact that it does not have a few more selections on the automatic transmission....especially when the cx-9 has them-it is just a cost cutting move from ford. They have taken flak for that the past year so hopefully they are listening and will change that decision
