STDevil
Hi all - How do you guys fill your diesel tank? With my 2002 F250 SD, I would fill the tank until the nozzle clicked off, and then slowly trickle in another five gallons until the fuel was at the top of the filler hose (I could see the fuel). That way, I knew my tank was totally full. I was wondering if this approach might screw something up with the modern diesel fuel system (I don't know if there's a bunch of extra hoses or vapor canisters), which is why I am asking. Thanks... ScottK1
I can tell you that the TFL Truck folks have a standard for testing mileage. They fill until it clicks off, and then wait 30 seconds. Fill again and then done. You can ask them via their website how they came up with that, but they are fairly science-based.
Baddestt
I was wondering the same for the 2020/2021 super duties. On my 2007 f250 6.0, 29 gallons capacity is advertised, but I can get a total of 34 gallons in from empty to full at the cap. My guess with the CC 6.7 short bed at 34 gallons, could 38-39 gallons be the actual top off from empty to top off?
STDevil
The TFL videos are awesome. I have seen their method. I’ll probably just do that (and save myself a bunch of time at the pump and the evil stares from the people in line)...
