plev72
33.4 Hwy.2003 ZTW 2.0Liter Automatic Average Hwy is 28 Mpg. I've seen 33 maybe 34 once in mixed driving on my '05 5-speed SES ZX4.
Ken F.
'01 5-speed wagon with 112,000 miles. Just changed plugs - l got a little over 35 MPG last tank. 90% highway, 75+mph Pretty darn good. I think that is more than it was rated at when new.
Ken F.
OK - Last tank it dropped back to around 32. But there was quite a bit of 80 MPH driving and a good 1/2 hour of idleing time. On other vehicles I notice that extended idle time really kills fuel economy.
93R-Code
On trips between Detroit and Chicago I've received 33mpg with my old '03 SVT Focus. Usually was good for 22-26 in the city.

mikeb2
I have a 2007 base model focus with the 2.0 and 5 speed. I see a consistent 28-29 mpg with mixed "around town" driving with a bit of highway, and have seen 33 mpg with a lot more highway driving. Worst i've seen is 27 mpg. Oh, and I have a lead foot It's fun to row thru the gears :D Focus has to be one of the most underrated deals out there at the moment. focus05
I get around 22-24 in SF, but when I commute (which I do alot), I get around 30 at 75+ with my auto ZX4 SE.
Alex D.
My best MPG for a 2005 SES automatic was 36.6, and about 90% of that tank was observed on country roads averaging 55 mph. My average mpg after 20,000 miles is 30.2. Keep in mind I drive very conservatively to try to achieve the best mpg possible. My lowest mpg on a tank was only 17.7 but that was in near zero temperatures combined with getting stuck in the snow several times. Needless to say all that excessive wheel spin certainly killed my mpg!
focalxplosion
I get a consistent 22 MPG in mostly city driving. This is in my 2004 SVT, 6spd manual of course. My best single trip average was 31 MPG when my wife drove it from San Diego to Portland following me in a UHaul.
