IUEC135ELEVATOR
Just testing my fifth wheel hitch and pop the covers off and see these misaligned slots that are different in every hole and one hole doesn't have them... Can someone explain that to me please... what they are for
mattdm
i think you are seeing the top of the frame rail. The holes have no relation to the fifth wheel hitch.
IUEC135ELEVATOR
It doesn't affect the fifth wheel locks at all. The frame rail idea makes sense. I didn't know if there was some special alternative use for the fifth wheel holes and these slots were there for a purpose. Or these are all supposed to be opened and something just didn't go right on my truck. I have no clue and could not find anything on the internet so I figured I'd ask you guys. Just want to make sure that something didn't go wrong with my truck at the plant. Edited October 30, 2021 by IUEC135ELEVATOR
mattdm
It appears to be the brackets that hold the fifth wheel structure. Why the random shapes is anyones guess, but appears totally normal to be like that. Screen grab from a random install video i found 1

HorizontalHunter
If you look at the pictures of this gooseneck kit you can see the tabs on the bottom that rotate into the slot of the puck system. As posted above, what you are just seeing is just the frame or other parts of the truck. Bob
