The trooper spotted an orange sports car speeding north on Interstate 93 about 11:15 a.m. Sunday, New Hampshire State Police said. Using radar, he clocked him at 161 mph — more than 90 mph over the speed limit of 70 mph, according to state police. The car was traveling so fast, the trooper was not able to attempt to catch up with it, state police said. Instead, he alerted area police departments, and within minutes, reports came in of “multiple sports cars, including the orange car, driving erratically at high rates of speed, nearly causing crashes,” state police said. A Woodstock Police Department officer heard the broadcast, positioned a patrol car on the highway and saw the speeding orange sports car pass. This time, the car was clocked at 130 mph, state police said. The officer then was able to find the car, a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette, and stop it at Exit 32, where it had become stuck in traffic, state police said. When the state trooper arrived, he gave the driver a summons for two counts of reckless driving and one count of disobeying an officer, state police said. The driver, Alejandro Zapata-Rebello, 30, of Danbury, is due in Plymouth court on Sept. 22, state police said. Harley Lover
Surprised they didn't haul him to jail and tow the car to impound. Seems like speeding figures like those would merit that response.
