Ford RS2.00 Concept Celebrates 40 years of the RS200

Mentioned it in another thread, but Ford needs to build this thing. Maybe in flat rock. Don't make it some 500k supercar that only sells a 1,000 units or something. A small, fun mid-engine car at a relatively affordable price is one of the only enthusiasts segments Ford has never jumped into. Given how lucrative this market can be with things like the c8, Cayman, and Elise, Ford should at least give it some serious consideration.

Share some parts with the mustang to keep the development costs down. Like the 2.3 hybrid the mustang is getting. An AWD version of that making 400-450 hp in something smaller and lighter than most of it's rivals would be an awesome car. Especially if it was like 70k or something.

Maybe I missed it in the article, but would it be electric or a hot version of the 2.3?

The steering wheel with the 'brain' seems a little silly. Why take the whole steering wheel for your preferences when your phone can do the same thing if it's connected to it lol

Idk, the guy who designed it claimed it was designed to accommodate multiple different types of powertrains. I just threw out the 2.3 Ecoboost hybrid idea because we know that powertrain is coming from the mustang, and it just makes a lot of sense to throw it into other projects to distribution develop costs across multiple models.

I really hope they make this. After living with it for a few days, I still really like it. But I mentioned in another thread I would like to see some tweaks to the design. The roofline is a little lumpy to me. I'd love to see the roofline and quarter panels from this red ferrari rendering blended with the RS 200 fog lights and roof spoiler.
