  1. Ask an englishman if the protestants or catholics do any bombings.
  2. The S has 16" wheels and the SE has 17" wheels. The 17" wheels are wider and less aerodynamic so the highway mileage goes down. I'm surprised they adjusted the sticker mileage numbers for this.
  3. More gas tax revenue? No. Carbon tax revenue? No. Gas Guzzeller tax revenue? No. Beuller? No. How does a government body make tax revenue from raising fuel economy standards? Somebody connect the dots for me. I can't even find the dots.
  4. So I guess that dual braking systems, brake lights, turn signals, seat belts, ABS, and anything else regulated into an automobile is a government tax? DAMN THEM ALL STRAIGHT TO HELL!
  5. What a differance a year makes. All the GOP ass kissers are looking like the Democrate ass kissers during Bush II. Same coin? I think so!
  6. I guess all that "van" needs is a wolf howling at the moon scene air brushed on the sides. Or a thick red stripe running from the front bumper to a top rear spoiler.
  7. The beast is wounded and cornered. It is unpredictable and dangerous! Stay away!
  8. Ecoboost, and any other turbocharged or supercharged engine, is all about creating a variable displacement engine. With 25% more air going into the engine, the turbos increase the displacement from a 3.5L V6 to 4.4L V6.
  9. Here is a good article on the new Jaguar AJ-V8 GENIII engine. This is the first article I've read on Jag's new 5.0L V8. If you read the article, the cams use the same torque actuated variable cam timing that Ford is bringing online on their engines. Which begs the question, are there any other similarities between this 5.0L V8 design and the 5.0L Coyote V8 that Ford will be lauching within the next few years?
  10. Well, Ford had "been there, done that" with the 302 and 351 Windsors with pretty good results. I believe Ford's biggest mistake with the Modular was the tight bore spacing, brought on by a compromise to fit the new V8 into FWD cars. Had the 4.6L bore been larger, like the old 302, the 5.4L wouldn't have been such an extremely under-square design.
  11. Do Ford Race Teams put stickers on the valve covers to make them look like a Modular V8?
  12. I think Obama's supporters made the trip to D.C. because they could afford to do so. I think most of Bush's supporters figured none of the vehicles in their front yard could make the trip.
  13. Unfortunately, the new Ford Fiesta may suffer the same fate.
  14. I'm disappointed to see that the rear seats in the Fiesta do not fold flat with the truck floor. That's a strike against the car in my opinion.
  15. Just like riding a moped. It's fun until your friends find out.
  16. Remember "If the gloves don't fit you must acquit"? I had heard on the radio a story about this. Apparently, ol' Juice has badly arthritic hands for which he takes medication. Well, before the infamous glove demonstration in court, ol'Juice started to neglect his arthritis medication and as a result his hands started to swell up and those old gloves started to get a little bit tight.
  17. After listening to Sarah Palin last night, I've come to the conclusion that she is the female version of Ned Flanders.
  18. My Best Car = 2001 Mustang GT Bullitt (Current vehicle and it is still fun-fun-fun) My Worst Car = 1983 Buick Regal T-Type (Turbos and Carburetors do not mix!) Other Cars: 1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88 (Parent's hand-me-down with a 403 4bl) 1994 Tempo (Contrary to all the warnings I got, this was a good car) 1996 Mustang GT (I bought it used and won a $10,000 prize in a dealership contest!)
  19. Buy the '09 Escape w/Towing package and then get a trailor.
  20. I believe that the 3.7L in the Mazda 6 has port fuel injection, not direct injection. So the better fuel economy was acheived by other means. Maybe it uses that deceleration fuel cut-off feature Ford introduced a few weeks ago? This new feature should work on all Ecoboost engines.
  21. It's not you. There are some on BON that are too thin-skinned to just ignore something that they don't agree with. These types continually enjoy screaming at brick walls and when they get tried of screaming, they ask the BON powers that be to have that brick wall removed from BON membership. It's sad and funny, all at the same time!
  22. According to Edmonds' latest test, the brand new 375 HP HEMI Challenger R/T does the 0-60 in 5.9 s. It does the 1/4 mile in 14.1 at 100.8. That is with the six speed manual. The 2008 Bullitt Mustang beats both those times. Heck, my 270 HP 2001 Bullitt can easily match those times. That is sad.
  23. CONFIRMED! The Challenger R/T is an overweight slug. 0-60 in 5.9s What a joke! But really, I saw this coming because the SRT8 isn't exactly a barnstormer even though it has a claimed 425 HP.
  24. I saw a Flex and Taurus X parked side by each on a dealership lot. They are pretty much the same size which surprised me because I was under the impresion that the Flex was going to be a larger vehicle. They also have the same seating capabilities. The Flex and Taurus X pretty much compete with each other on the same lot, which represents a General Motors type problem within the single Ford brand name. The Taurus X is a pretty good vehicle in it's own right but Ford needs to dump it and run with the newer Flex.
