  1. The Maxima is only an inch longer and about 2 inches wider then the Altima and otherwise is identical in other dimensions...
  2. This pretty comical...if I remember right, you had an older SHO and the only reason you got one was it had a stupid discount on it (7K or so)...
  3. Also adjusted for inflation, the 2010 SHO costs just about the same as a 1990 SHO. I think people are just having sticker shock...its not the 1990's anymore and Ford isn't in the business to make a 15K Taurus any more. Yet people have no problem blowing 50K on a F-150...which to me is farking stupid. As for the weight, doesn't bother me, that will be corrected on the next gen Taurus...
  4. But your also making assumptions by saying that since you never seen or driven one... I think the biggest problem this car has is getting rid of the stigma the Taurus name has. But keep in mind that reviews don't sell cars for the most part.
  5. And yet again its a midsized car according to the EPA, and you still can't get AWD and your at a 75HP disadvantage vs the SHO. Basically outside of the 300C, the Taurus doesn't have a direct competitor...all the Japanese "fullsized" sedans are just plus sized midsizers.
  6. Central NJ, but the point your missing is that once someone has something its hard to make them do something differently unless they REALLY need too.
  7. Personally I'd like see the following: More Aggressive looking Front and Rear Fascias Body Colored Grill (the car needs a little bit more differentiation from the Current Taurus) Light colored (stone?) Interior Anyone else?
  8. Stupid comparo....the biggest gripe I have with the Madzaspeed 3 is that the 5 door hatchback looks way too much like a station wagon for my likes...I'd rather have the sedan
  9. Might want to check your facts again, Top of the Line Maxima vs the SHO is only about $1200 cheaper when compared on TrueDelta.com due to the fact that the Maxima is lacking nearly 2K worth of options that the SHO has.
  10. Ha how many "good" Catholics are out there? I think the vast majority are fed up at the church they belong to and don't subscribe to the 1800s thinking that the Church has. I haven't been around Mormon's out on the East Coast, but they sure do sound like the Orthodox/ Hasidic Jewish Population I have in the town next door to me when it comes to kids! I think it boils down to this and I'll use my sister as an example. She had an Explorer Limited with a V8 and just downsized to a Escape Limited...and she hates the thing, doesn't have the same room as the Explorer had and just more of a pain in the butt to do things in to her. Anyways, once people are used to doing something some way and have to downgrade without a good reason they aren't going to happy using something that that is more limited then what they are used to having.
  11. I think the whole 7 seater thing is being blown out of proportion, outside of the Orthodox Jewish and maybe the Hispanic Communities, who in their right mind has that many kids? The avg US family has something like 2.5 kids. If it can fit 5 people or at least 2 adults and 3 kids in it without major issues, it will sell...those two extra seats are like the third row seating on an Explorer....you use it in a pinch for short distances so you don't have to take two vehicles to get there.
  12. When I clicked on this....I totally didn't expect them to be talking about the 2010 Taurus...esp on the BBC! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8249530.stm
  13. Yummmy....Cookies It was, just that it was poorly excuited..much like many other Ford products at the time. The got fat and stupid after how good things where going in the mid to late 1990's Thats the point I was making before...I don't expect it to sell much more then what you stated...hell the Flex isn't even doing that (well because of other reasons too)
  14. Why pay for it when you can get it for free? http://www.lincoln.com/extras/tvads.asp then click on the MKS Ecoboost ad and at the bottom of the popup window will be a button to download the song.
  15. But the point is that bringing over the Grand C-Max is a minimum risk venture for Ford...the primary market is over in Europe, not North America. If it does fail in NA, its not going to kill the company off.
  16. I like it, but I'm not sure if I'm sold on the styling on it. I do wish we got that HDI LCD in the Speedo on more cars over here too As for it being cheaper then what Ford currently has....I wouldn't hold my breath too much...the way its equipped in those photos makes me believe it would start in the mid 20s and top out in the low to mid 30's
  17. Not sure if this more marketing hype that the consumer has bought into or what.... http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/11/survey-...cant-afford-it/
  18. Thats kinda funnny, you have to remember that the new product is done world-wide, not just out of Dearborn etc...I don't think its going to be an issue. It might complicate things for salesmen, but at least you can't say well I don't have a car that doesn't have sliding doors when someone wants it.
  19. I dunno if I squint hard enough I kinda see the fusion, outside of the grill and tail lights :P
  20. From the latest news Reports, it looks like VW is looking at using the Panamera platform in other products...kinda werid to state your killing off something, but yet are going to milk it for other products?
  21. My sisters '92 Probe had oxidation issues, so did my dads/my 86 Escort GT and both where red color without clearcoat
  22. One thing about the EB V6...why not offer it? They could do a limited production with it, say 5K a year without affecting GT or GT500 sales all that much and improve MPG at the same time. The V8 will be in the Mustang one way or another. Though I do have to wonder about putting so many different engines in the Mustang....we could possibly have the following: EB I4 3.7L V6 EB 3.5L V6 5.0L 5.4L V8 Though I'd expect the 5.4L to go away and it be replaced by a boosted 5.0L in some form.
