  1. Google is your friend. Also, imperial gallons != US gallons, please supply your results and spin some more. Nice damage control Edstock, keep it up.
  2. Best: - Alfa Romeo - Rolls Royce - Ferrari Worse: - Hyundai - Subaru - Lincoln
  3. Yeah I always expected the Mazda2 to deliver better FE. - The car is lighter. Terrible road & wind noise due to the lack of sound deadening to save weight. (See reviews) - Different engine, materials, etc. The focus was on trimming weight at every step, refinement be dammed. Again 38 MPG comes from most Fiesta reviews so far, and that's with the all new, modern and quite refined 1.6L Ti-VCT Duratec, not the Flinstone's powerplant we're getting, which could potentially ruin the experience for quite a lot of folks. I can already hear the excuses around launch... "Bububu ethanol ready" "Bububu bullet proof" Trying to make the car run as silent as the one in Europe, with its impressive 1.6L Ti-VCT Duratec, will require additional sound deadening, which will add weight, which will in turn affect FE. Any improvements from the dual clutch tranny, most likely, will just offset the losses from the additional weight between both versions.
  4. Explain me your logic here. You blindly believe in Ford's Ecoboost BS, but when GM does it, then they're lying. They're using a brand new, state of the art 1.4L engine with a turbo, for the Cruze. FNA using a shitty, ancient, noisy, coarse 1.6L NA engine for our Fiesta, and a 1.8L for the Focus. Funny how at the end of the day, it seems GM is the company that will bring "Ecoboost tech" to the masses.
  5. Going by recent reviews, Fiesta's adjusted mileage is around 38 MPG. That's with the new, modern, smooth as silk 1.6L I4 we won't get, and without the dual clutch tranny. And no, the point behind b-cars is to have a nice, profitable and reasonable entry level model in the 14-17k spot. 45-50 MPG / "Will kill the competition" / etc. Like I said... the cheerleaders set themselves up for dissapointment since day 1. If you really wanted Ford to get rid of its poor image when it comes to mileage, you shouldn't have rooted for, and cheered their hybrid SUV years ago, which did nothing to steal attention away from the Prius - and even helped Toyota further, image-wise, thanks to Ford's retarded PR department, which handled the whole patent swap issue terribly bad, and left everyone thinking Ford just purchased Toyota's system.
  6. Fiesta will sell based on its own merits, but people need to get out of their Ford bubble on this, they're setting themselves up for dissapointment. It doesn't represent a threat to most of its competitors, it doesn't offer the spaciosness of the Versa (go sit in one before replying), the utility of the Fit (again, people clearly aren't buying it over the others based on looks), or the excellent price-FE savings ratio of the Yaris. People avoid each of the other b cars for a reason - very few people are cross shopping in this segment. They've their head set on something already. It cannot be called a savior either for Ford. Once the 2010 Focus is revealed, Fiesta will offer just a marginal improvement when it comes to FE. Just look at the Civic and Fit to see what I'm talking about. I just expect it to do well, again, based on its own merits, but it won't be "killing" the competition, nor will it "save the company" or anything like that, as is commented here almost 24/7.
  7. Fixed. Removed the vehicles that prove his point due to their mediocre demand.
  8. What's important here is that, even if the Fusion bombed in Europe, the Ecosport was a success in Brazil. Despite what I said earlier, I don't think we won't see another small SUV. The worrying thing here is FOB will be the one doing it, and despite RJ's delusional spins on the subject, they suck.
  9. It IS getting killed, due to its terrible sales, something Mr. Euroclueless is omitting. The B-Max won't be another small SUV ala Fusion/EcoSport. Picture a bigger Fit with suicide doors.
  10. And the Cruze looks nothing like the Fiesta, yet no one questioned that comparison. Props to GM for another decent effort.
  11. Nope it was the other way around, with the Fiesta resembling an older GM interior.
  12. Profits. Gas was cheap when Honda, Toyota, etc. made their move. Anyone who thinks B-cars will go away once gas prices come down (ie: return of 14k Civics, 13k Focus, etc.) is deluding himself. Never understood the whole "Fiesta=Fit killer" nonsense here, it has less utility and people clearly aren't buying the Fit for its looks.
  13. How is writing "OK" even remotely comparable to calling someone a moron, dumbass, idiot, retard, etc. like TomServo, suv guy, and so on? Always focusing on the wrong crowd
  14. Aztek becoming a hit, achieves love it or hate it status Blackwood becoming a hit, achieves love it or hate it status Contour becoming a hit, achieves love it or hate it status Tundra becoming a hit, achieves love it or hate it status Hey this game is fun!
  15. You may be right. Looking closer, the Lariat has 2 additional gauges at the top, it's difficult to see if the Taurus also has those two or not. The 3 main gauges of the '10 Fusion and '04 Lariat are arraged in the exact same order. There's absolutely no reason to believe Ford would use a different generic part for each of these new vehicles. If the part is new or not is irrelevant to my point, it's the same shit all over again. Goodbye interiors with the same generic gauge cluster, hello new interiors... with another generic gauge cluster.
  16. ? It's another generic Ford instrument cluster. Look at the 2004 Lariat F150. Same shit all over again.
  17. ? Did you even read what I wrote? That wasn't even centered around that link. Take your own advice next time.
  18. I don't trust Ford PR, they're worse than used car salesmen.
  19. Allright then, the low profile deals. B)
  20. Point is THAT's the production Volt. Had I made some 5 min. rushjob on MS Paint, started a new thread and called it "Production MKT - OMG LOL IT SUX", I doubt you would be as forgiving.
  21. But I thought Ford would need extra capacity to fill the huge retail demand for the FuckUs and Fusion.
  22. Well this explains a lot. It was all about the secret deals.
