  1. Yes, I am certain that all Chevrolet dealers will sell the highly anticipated new Camaro SS at or below MSRP.
  2. Correct. Tom Scarpello wanted a "sophisticated" M3 fighter. The suspension was biased toward a better ride, and the '99 cars had problems with axle hop.
  3. Then why on Earth would you not buy this superior vehicle and revel in its fantastic interior and superior intake manifold and spark plugs? You can place an order now, you know. Be the first on your block! I'm sure the IRS will coddle the Camaro's fat ass in comfort, but anybody who doesn't just get automotive info from internet forum posts knows that production IRS suspensions are biased toward ride rather than handling, and that the live-axle S197 Mustang GT outhandled the IRS-equipped GTO. I don't know, but you keep on posting anyway.
  4. Chevy made an origami version of a '69 Camaro. Dodge hammered a new Charger into a '70 Challenger's slab-sided bastard offspring. The S197 blends traits from every generation of Mustang, from 1964 through 2004.
  5. Maybe you have to sit in a car to know the difference between up and down, but not everybody else does. And the Camaro's dash design is not at all integrated. It looks like three different designers did it: one for the main gauges, another for the center stack, and another still for the auxiliary gauges. But I really wish you'd trade your P71 for a Camaro, for the intake manifold design alone.
  6. Funny--Chevy is bragging that the design isn't overly retro.
  7. Now there's a snappy comeback. That's as well thought out and effective as the interior design of the new Camaro.
  8. I imagine Chevy cares at least a little about sales numbers.
  9. I've got a GTS and I fit. Lots of interesting "Camero" stuff here: http://jalopnik.com/398891/dale-earnhardt-...ssie-test-track
  10. I like the SN95 dash design much better than the new dash, but the interior is very cramped for someone of my stature. I couldn't fit in a '94/'95 GT because the seat wouldn't go back far enough to get my knees off the dash, but my GTS has thinner V6 seats, so I have just enough clearance.
  11. Not in sales. Wait and see. Lutz is hyping the "premium" nature of the Camaro. Ford isn't pretending the Mustang is anything more than what it is--a reasonably priced, fun car.
  12. The new Camaro interior is an ergonomic nightmare. The Mustang interior is not.
  13. There was not much demand for the new Thunderbirds. That's why they went out of production. Ford doesn't make any money on dealer markup, and they don't make any money on cars they can't sell.
  14. I thought you were saying they were on the ABC show Lost. I was wondering how they would work that in.
  15. The typical Grand Marquis buyer wants neither dual exhaust nor floor shift nor a firm suspension.
  16. My '01 isn't speed limited. I think they started doing that in '03. My '01 has constant ratio steering, too, but newer ones have the same variable assist non-P71s do.
  17. I don't know if there's any more sound insulation or not, but there must be more than my P71 has. What's an RMS? I assume it's some sort of Roadmaster abbreviation.
  18. PIs get the Marauder airbox and a different zip tube. Other than that there's no difference. PIs have speed limiters now, too.
  19. I plan to build 635 demonstration vehicles over the next 4 to 18 years. The best-laid plans of mice and men gang oft agley.
  20. It was in response to the $7 a gallon announcement. Do you think that is imminent?
  21. Did I say anything about government regulation?
