  2. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...6090101051.html Good idea????!!! :cheerleader:
  3. Anyone out there with a 2002 (or thereabouts) Windstar with the optional fuel economy computer that can tell me the optimum cruising speed on the highway? I am planning a 6 hour trip to northern ontario and I am curious what the best cruising speed would be. Gas prices are crazy up here... Thanks in advance.

  5. Target number for the two shifts is 489. So A shift will work until lunch, 4.5 hours and b shift will come in and make up the difference. I really wish Ford was a little more organized when it comes to our jobs and how they will change with the new models. Good luck everybody! It looks like we're going to need it! :cheerleader:
  6. I assume you are American? Try www.ford.com If you are not American, try the Ford web site of your country IE: www.ford.ca for Canada and look for news or sales reports. They are usually issued monthly.. Good luck... :cheerleader: Go Ford
  7. Had a look at the new Mazda CX-9. "New 3.5litre V-6, 6 speed auto trans, up to 7 passenger seating".....Sound familiar? Looks a heck of a lot like the Edge. Any chance of us building it here in Oakville? I did kind of notice a lot of Asian looking engineers walking around this week??? Are they from Mazda? Lots of questions. :happy feet:
  8. We have an '06 Freestar that occasionally sounds like it has a fan rubbing ( metal against metal Need more information. Is it idling? While driving? Where does it come from? Fans are a plastic composite. In order for the fans to run the engine must be hot or the air conditioning is on. Could it be a squealing belt?
  9. It looks astonishingly like the Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX. It makes me wonder if we'll be building it here in Oakville???
  10. Just finished watching the special on Wal - Mart. I don't think I'll shop there again. Not unless the item is made in North America. Even though I'm in Canada, we have to realize that we are connected at the hip. Whatever happens in the States ends up happening here too. We must preserve the jobs we have left!
  11. Way to tell 'em Charly :happy feet:
  12. That's a good one foxrun! Its really funny since the kia sedona started off life as a re-engineered 95 windstar! Kia was in our plant in 96 or so studying how we put them together. A buddy of mine actually talked to them and asked them why they were there and they told him they would be building a similar model in Korea! Now they push 95 windstars off cliffs - Classic!
  13. Hi, we're building approximately 420 units per day (Freestar and Monterey). Our productin is low because the vans are not selling well. We currently have 2 shifts (A and B) sharing the day shift. Right now A shift is working for 2 weeks while B shift is laid off. There is a C shift that works steady midnights in certain departments. We also have been experiencing blackout weeks where there is no production at all. All this has been happening for almost 2 years while we wait for the company to prepare for the 2 new vehicles (Edge and MKX). As of the end production date - we hear April 2007 but that could very well change - today we have a big union meeting. I hope that answers your questions.
  14. Any ideas on the turnaround for our EI clawback rebates from Ford? Are we going to get our money during shutdown again? It seems a heck of a lot more people will be getting them this year. Thx
