  1. Just so you know, the C crew schedule is days on Friday and Saturday, and afternoons on Sunday and Monday. If they had Friday off as a paid holiday, then they would have to work on Easter Sunday. They switched the days around so nobody would have to work on Easter Sunday.
  2. C crew at Woodhaven stamping is working Good Friday, with Sunday off.
  3. I also DO NOT want mechanical trade teams. In the long run, it will result in less people doing more work. From what I understand, there will only be 4 pilot plants with mechanical trade teams. According to the contract, mechanical trade teams will support production operations and continue to perform traditional building maintenance and project work. Pilot plants cannot have any mechanical skilled trades on layoff status. And, oversite of the mechanical trade teams will be the responsibility of the Skilled Trade Governance committee. IMT's are not part of the mechanical skilled trade teams.
  4. The shutdown dates are July 5 and August 9, but they haven't been officially announced yet.
  5. No, we are on the ABC (4/10s) schedule, which I believe is the same as DTP uses. It sucks! Nobody should work more than 8 hours a day. As far as us going back to a normal 5/8 schedule, it is just a rumor. Management doesn't want to admit it's not working. Until we get rid of the morons running this place, we are stuck with it.
  6. LOCAL 387 Woodhaven Stamping and Woodhaven Forging Yes - 50 No - 563 92% NO!
  7. I don't expect it to pass. It didn't pass here last time, and neither did our local agreement this past summer. We have a lot of pissed off people here right now. I will try and post the results Friday night after they are counted.
  8. That story is about AAI, local 3000. AAI is located in Flat Rock and their local(3000) is in the city of Woodhaven. Not to confuse anybody else, but Woodhaven stamping and Woodhaven forging (both in Woodhaven) vote Thursday and Friday at local 387, which is in Brownstown, but has a mailing address of Flat Rock!
  9. It was Toyota that said they wanted their pay rates in line with the geographic locations of their plants.
  10. Woodhaven stamping used to work 3 shifts, 8 hours a day, Monday thru Friday, until June. We are now on the 4/10 ABC schedule. A-crew works Monday thru Thursday, 5:00am to 3:30pm. B-crew works Tuesday thru Friday, 3:30pm to 2:00am (nice how we get to drive home with all the drunks on the road). C-crew works days Friday/Saturday, and afternoons Sunday/Monday. This schedule SUCKS! It may work in an assembly plant, but it doesn't work here. Management is just hiding their operating costs by working a C-crew on the weekend, paying them straight time. If they knew how to run this plant properly, we would still be on the 5/8 schedule, and not have to work the weekends. The Plant newsletter came out this week stating how our quality has taken a nosedive since June. DUH! Nobody in manangement wants to admit this 4/10 isn't working. Also, this schedule hasn't added any people to the plant, just moved everybody around (and pissed off alot of people).
  11. None! We really don't have enough electricians to run as it is.
  12. The 2007 contract lists the 22 skilled trade classifications. Machine repair and millwright are two of the 22. A machine repair does not step down to a millwright! The National Joint Skilled-Trades Governance Team is in charge of all consolidations of trades and practices at all plants. The 2007 contract lists all trades that go back to their base trade. And you are correct, a machine repair does not become a pipefitter. However, at Woodhaven stamping, we have never had hydraulic repair. Machine repair does all hydraulic work on all plant equipment.
  13. Beginning March 23, Woodhaven will have another 177 people put on TLO. This brings the total of people put on TLO this month to over 350.
  14. The plug issue on the 5.4 was fixed in November 2007 with a redesign of the head casting.
  15. I don't see anyone reporting Monday at Woodhaven. We are going to have another 90-100 people put on layoff on the 16th for about 5 weeks. This is on top of the 89 the put out this week! But who knows!
  16. The company has until April 1st to notify us if we will have a shutdown. As it is now, the shutdown weeks will probably be the weeks of June 29th, and August 17th.
  17. I wouldn't count on that date. They just posted a TLO list today of about 70 people. They will be off from March 9 to at least April 5. And yesterday at the local hall before the vote, Bob King said they will not bring anybody else into the plant until production volumes go up. The reason why the people are being put on TLO is because volumes are going down.
  18. November 1987 would probably be in the top 50. There is about 600 non-skilled employees.
  19. Posted today at Woodhaven stamping; 2 Machine Repair - Kansas City Assembly 8 Tool & Die Maker - Wayne Body & Assembly 2 Machinist - Rouge site & Maint/Construction 11 Industrial Truck Mechanic - Cleveland site Casting/Engine 34 Welding Machine/Welding Fixture Repair - Wayne Body & Assembly 2 Welder General - Kansas City Assembly 7 Electricians - Ohio Assembly Plant 33 Electricians - Kansas City Assembly 1 Refrigeration & A/C Maintenance - Rouge site Maint./Construction 1 Refrigeration & A/C Maintenance - Livonia Transmission Plant. The reason all these trades are posted at Woodhaven is because we have people in these trades on lay-off or in JSP. Also, I do have a copy of the postings that show what plant locations these jobs are posted at.
  20. Here at Woodhaven, they have given people the choice of collecting 100% and reporting in every day or collecting 85% and stay home. Most people have taken the 85% and stayed home. They don't have to pay for gas to drive in everyday or spend money on lunches, etc.
  21. Yes, Woodhaven stamping has about 66 people transfering to Wayne assembly, Wayne stamping, and AAI, starting on 8/18 and going thru to September. We currently have several hundred people on layoff.
  22. Woodhaven stamping does not have tinsmiths.
  23. I hope nobody minds, but I'm going to take this thread back to its subject, Woodhaven Stamping. Starting tomorrow, May 5, we will have 80 production on TLO and about 12 more trades put on TLO. The TLO is for two weeks, the same two weeks that DTP and AAI are down (that's what they told us!). An earlier post questioned if production was working any overtime. Yes they have, but no production was on TLO or ILO. However, welder repair has been working some people 12 hours, Monday thru Friday. And yes, they have welder repair on ILO! Nice of them, eh?
