  1. Its not a very good looking car to me. Its weird how they took a few straight sharp lines like the front clip and rear and then used round pregnant woman rear fenders, cartoonie looking. The halo lights around the gauges are sweet but the hvac control knobs look like the volume knob on a sony bookshelf radio to me. That rear end is really rough looking, caddy xlr comes to mind, its not working for me one bit. I wanted to like the new mustang and I do but dont plan on owning one anytime, its just too damn big of a car. I think they look nicer, cleaner, more proportioned than the camaro though. Keeping in mind this is MY opionion on a FORD website, im not up for debating or aguing what I think.
  2. I really cant figure out the appeal of anything Cadillac is making, some of the tackiest looking vehicles on the road, anything gangsta rappers and basketball players are proud to drive id stay away from. The only way I can describe the styling is a grade schooler with a straight edge ruler and a crayola. Not big on the grills on lincolns, navi in particular, but atleast there are smooth clean lines, not sharp jagged cuts and creases.
  3. Nasty turbo? what do you mean. As in too much boost too fast or just lousey turbo? I have one and the garett t3 was in svo's and turbo coupes and makes the car a blast to drive, full boost can come on at 2800rpm and its good to about 21psi. !50,000 miles, 2000 mile oil changes and its still rockin. I just wish it looked more like the cosworth. The ybb would have been nice too.
  4. Ill support the company that made America AND is based in America, thank you. The family just bought an explorer escape and ranger, so I got U.S.A covered, but if I was in the market for a car I wouldnt hesitate one bit for a fusion.
  5. Ducatis are the best? not sure where you got that from. And Im much happier with my '07 rsvr than I was with my old ducati. I wanted to buy a 1098 but the price and the fact that it was just so darn uncomfortable made me go with the ape. Id much rather give my money to Italy than I would japan though, that and the italian bikes have way more character than the japanese stuff. I do love the old 748 though.
  6. I think the challenger is a sweet looking car, and although a bit on the heavy side they will sell every one of em well above sticker for some time. I hate the camaro, aside from the front end because well I dislike GM people.
  7. Ive had good luck with the rainx stuff. It doesnt seem to freeze as fast, but the nicest thing is after using it for about a year when it rains lightly I dont need to turn the wipers on the water rolls off the windshield. I dont know about all that stuff going onto my paint, but I also wash my truck frequently and buff it out and use a nice zaino cleaner wax about every 3-6 months.
  8. I figured the few people on here that like Fords and still enjoy driving their blue ovals might like some reading material. http://www.millionmilevan.com/ http://www.carbuyersnotebook.com/archives/..._vic_t.htm#more
  9. I dont think the new silverado is a good looking truck at all, capable im sure but not good looking by any stretch of the imagination, ALMOST as bad as the titan. Lack of exciting powerful products coming out of Ford lately has got rousch mixing it up and bondurant dumping Ford. Well SLP is making that dreadful sounding exhaust for the mustang now.
  10. Sorry forgot about the guys in the great white north. My community is going to feel the pinch of the economy too, I hear tanning lotion and ice tea prices will triple by summer. You guys should be alright though
  11. After winter is over I barely use a gallon of that stuff throughout the year. Damn road salt. Ill buy a case now at 99 cents a gallon and have enough for 3 years.
  12. To the actual Ford enthusiasts on this site, are there any left? http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/hrd..._car/index.html Be sure to check out the youtube video A model A and it DOESNT have a 350 makes it oh so much cooler.
  13. For a while there GM would love to do that with cars, changing plugs on a f-150 isnt bad, all nice and in a row on top. Do plugs on a camaro or caprice where half the engine is under the dash and the plugs are sticking out the side of the heads.
  14. I dont know how much weight was in the bed of my ranger but I had as many blocks of oak from cutting a tree down as I could without em falling out and it didnt squat that bad. I also had a hotsy pressure washer on the tailgate last year and it didnt buckle the gate, not sure how much those things weighed but my god it was heavy. Ranger and most all other Ford trucks sit a bit higher in the rear to compensate for a load in the bed. But then again those trucks are usually bought to actually do work.
  15. Take it easy young man. All I said is I feel better being in an American car, thats all. Not arrogance, ignorance or anything else. I have personal experience with vehicle parts to back up my beliefs. Can you prove to me in any way that most Domestic vehicles are not built more robust? You seem to dislike most if not all things from Ford but have a massive hard-on for crown vics, and a strange fetish for emoticons. I like crown vics, but also like other Fords, plenty of stuff on them needs to be addressed before I LOVE them however. Dont you think the vic is overbuilt compared to Japanese cars of a similar size, era? So quit being a prick would ya, Im just posting my opinion. And you totally burned me with those super size smileys and whatnot, Ill tell ya after seeing that burn my cheerios so didnt taste the same this morning. Those "OWN3D" pics are pretty funny try working those into your comments next time, Id enjoy that. Good day, and thanks for helping out on our highways, I do appreciate the effort of all fireman, police and EMT out there. I wish I could give you a thumbs up smiley for that but I dont see them as one of my icon options.
  16. Thank you. In this day and age of computer simulations there is less and less stuff being overbuilt by everyone. But from my personal experience Japanese cars have been built to the acceptable limits and not an ounce more. I cant find the picture nor do I really feel like looking for it just so I can prove an internet point, but it was a toyota truck that had so much rust on the frame that it snapped in half. Aside from floor boards and cab corners I think you would be very hard pressed to find a similar Domestic vehicle that would have something like that happen. And after seeing some nissans and hondas in my garage and noticing how puny some major components are in relation to my cars of the time, I just feel safer in my Fords
  17. Thats the best you can come back with? Come on now throw in a googly eyed smiley face or something to emphasize your ultimate "snap" comeback reply. Maybe that dancing red jalapeño will bring it home. As I said in the beginning, I dont FEEL safe in them, maybe its their paper thin door panels, suspension components made of stamped tin foil, or the lazy unresponsive handling that MOST not all of Japanese cars that I have been in have. Whether they are or they arent I just dont plain trust them. End of story.
  18. Just to keep it simple and easy compare control arms on a new tundra and a new F-150, its a reacurring theme throughout japanese cars and trucks or MOST anywhere metal is used in the structure, back in the day moreso. If you can get any pictures proving me wrong please do so, I can furnish you with some pics supporting my opinion if you like. Apples to apples component comparison of course.
  19. Personally I request Domestic cars as rentals because I dont feel safe in Japanese cars, from personal experience Ive seen the thinner metals used in Japanese cars(atleast back in the day) so thats where that comes from. If I have the option and the place asks me what kind of car I want I tell em I dont care as long as its a Ford I tend to be loyal to products that serve me well.
  20. Wow that is some wild stuff, small world indeed. That car was in two trailer races the first one was where the trailer fell off, the second time we made sure the trailer didnt fall off, but thats when the engine locked up. One of my favorite races was when some guy had a small boat on a trailer filled with water, well when it got hit it looked like it exploded, very cool stuff. I never got to drive the car in any races unfortunately it was my buddy doin the driving the car was a representitive for the company he works at, he also drove a school bus in the figure '8' races, now that was fun!! I worked on that car alot, but I had to add it to my list cus it looked so cool :shades: .
  21. That piece of 'c' channel front bumper practically took the back half of a caprice wagon off at a circle eight trailer race, the car was runnin with a/c blowin ice cold during the race until it hit parts of a camper on the track and put a hole in the oil pan. And it still ran for about 10 min with no oil.
  22. Oh so now we're showing off ALL our Fords. Well I wont do the familys cars just mine I cant post the pic of my '93 canary yellow feature convertible. AND I bought a '93 explorer last month I was gonna turn into my off road truck. Im 28, an electrical engineer for the local power utility, I live with my parents and yes I have a problem. I got the collection down to about 5 cars now. The merkur, the '93 yellow convertible, the explorer, ranger, and the my '93 explorer. Im not gonna even get into the snowmobiles and motorcycles.
  23. My first Ford was a 1983 crown vic station wagon that I bought with a bad timing chain for $100. It had about 180,000 miles, I put a chain on it and drove it through the summer, I was 15 at the time and would sneak it out to cruise around the neighborhood After that summer I sold it to a local dealer for $500 Some before and after of me going offroading with it.
